'Blur' and 'Stone' effects (special-effects catalogue): neat S10 is sprayed at low/minimum pressure over fresh CQS 21–26 patina or over CTU/CQS dye drops to wash the pattern out; then clear lacquer (ATL20 UM / ATL200).

Other

Equipment cleaning: the official page allows S10 for flushing guns and lines. Evaporates fast — handy after polyester, patinas and dyes.

Process and compatibility

Selection
Pick by pore size: S10 for fine pores (fast), S12 medium, S90 open-pored (slow). For PE gloss lacquers use S11 (medium). S2000 is the gentler patina thinner.catalog
Temperature and humidity
Above ~25 °C or on big flat panels switch to S11 for polyester — S10 flashes too fast (dry spray, pinholes, poor flow).recommended
Don'ts
  • Do not use S10 to reduce PU/acrylic mattes and enamels — use S30/S31/S50/S80 (the catalogue does not list S10 for PU/acrylic).
  • Do not thin PE gloss lacquer with S10 in hot weather — use S11.
  • Do not mist S10 over patina at normal pressure — low pressure only, or you blow the patina off.

Storage

Safety: Fast-flashing flammable liquid: use in a ventilated spray booth, away from flame and sparks, with gloves and an A-filter respirator. No SDS found (flash point, composition unknown). [derived]
