CQS43001

CQS43001 Bronze metallic patina (solvent-borne)

Solvent-borne bronze metallic patina. Sprayed in a single coat over sanded PU or acrylic primer/enamel; after 5–10 minutes the excess is wiped back by hand with a Scotch-Brite pad or steel wool, leaving bronze flake in the pores, profile recesses and on the edges for an aged / decapé look with a metallic shimmer. Fast-drying, easy to wipe back, very low consumption. Must be locked in with a clear lacquer.

  • Ageing (patinating) indoor furniture and wooden items
  • Decapé on open-pore oak — bronze left in the pores
  • Highlighting carvings, mouldings and profiled doors over enamel
  • Picture-frame mouldings, hardware, décor items, PU-foam / polystone pieces
  • Ageing APL800XX metallic enamels (copper / brass / iron)
  • Desert Rose effect — metallic patina over HTL10001 'Frost'

  • S10Thinner
    % by weight: 100–200 %official% by volume: 100–200 %official

Standard reduction for spraying (official page and dealer: S10 100–200 % by weight and by volume).

S10 gives fast drying and a harder film (dealer). Less thinner = richer bronze; more = lighter, more see-through patina.

  • S2000Thinner
    % by weight: 100–200 %dealer

When you want easier wipe-back/sanding: dries a bit slower but comes off more easily (dealer).

Dealer gives '1–2×' in the text; the components table lists only S10.

  • S10 / S2000Thinner
    % by weight: 100–300 %catalog

Wider range per the 2025–2026 catalog — for a lighter, more transparent patina.

Catalog gives 100–300 % without stating weight or volume.

    % by weight: 100 %schedule

t-color.ru schedules: decapé oak (acrylic), open-pore oak doors (acrylic), PU-foam items (PU).

1:1 with S10; 80–100 g/m² (decapé, PU foam; open-pore schedule gives no rate), flash 5 min (oak) / 5–10 min (PU foam) at 20–25 °C.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Sanding
Excess is removed by hand: t-color.ru schedules use Scotch-Brite 07448 / S UFN (oak) or No.2 steel wool (PU foam) after 5–10 min. The special-effects catalog calls this sanding after drying (material stays in pores, recesses and on edges); dealer: S2000 makes it easier to sand back.schedule
Temperature and humidity

Don'ts
  • Don't leave the patina without clear lacquer — it isn't a topcoat; unprotected metal flake dulls and rubs off.
  • Don't apply over uncured or unsanded primer/enamel — it grabs everywhere and won't wipe back.
  • Don't wait too long before wiping back: past ~10 min it gets harder, especially when reduced with S10.
  • Don't flood it — 80–100 g/m² is already the reduced wet amount.
  • Don't forget to stir — bronze flake settles and you'll get patchy colour.
