APS20
APS20 White acrylic primer for open-pore finishes
Two-pack (2K, AC40 hardener) white acrylic primer for open-pore finishes. It wets out and colours the pores well but doesn't sink into MDF, so it suits veneered, routed fronts where raw MDF is exposed on the profile. High hiding power, flexible, non-yellowing, and it picks out the pores crisply. It's the go-to primer for a decapé (white-pore) effect and for patina-over-enamel finishes.
- Any wood species; kitchen and bathroom furniture (dealer t-colormarket/timb.ru; the official page has no application section)
- Decapé (limed) finish on oak (catalog, schedule)
- Routed veneered fronts with exposed MDF
- 'Washed' effect: primer → APL RAL enamel → CQS21–26 patina → ATL20 UM lacquer (special-effects catalogue)
- Fronts, doors, kitchens, bathrooms; solid wood, MDF (timb.ru dealer — it also lists 'glass', unverified and probably a listing error)

Mixing matrix
- AC40Hardener% by weight: 20 %official% by volume: 25 %official
Standard option per the official product page.
Fixed dose — weigh it, don't eyeball it. Dealer page gives the same 20 wt / 25 vol.
- AC41Hardener% by weight: 20 %catalog
Alternative hardener listed in the 2025–2026 catalogue.
No by-volume figure published for AC41. Slightly less yellowing-resistant than AC40 (catalogue p.19).
- AC40Hardener% by weight: 20 %schedule
Schedule 'Oak kitchen fronts with decapé effect (acrylic)', step 3.
The schedule writes 'C40' — almost certainly AC40 (the product page lists only AC40).
- S50Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %official% by volume: 30–45 %official
Standard thinning to spray viscosity.
Catalogue gives the same 20–30 %, S50 only. The 25 % default is just the mid-point (derived).
- S50Thinner% by weight: 30–40 %dealer% by volume: 40–50 %dealer
timb.ru dealer listing (differs from the official page).
Probably matched to the thicker 77 s VZ-4 batch figure.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 40–50 %dealer
Open-grained woods (oak, ash) — for better pore colour and grain pattern; apply 200–250 g/m².
timb.ru note: thin APS20 40–50 % and lay down 200–250 g/m². The note doesn't say by weight or by volume — recorded here as by weight.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 40 %schedule
Oak decapé schedule, step 3 (APS20 100 : C40 20 : S50 40, 150 g/m²).
Thinner than the product page (20–30 %) so it runs into the pores better.
- S80Thinner% by weight: 20–30 %recommended
Above ~25 °C or large panels — NOT an official option.
Slower: more dust pick-up and sag risk. Test panel first.

- Don'ts
- don't go past the 5 h pot life or top up old mix with fresh
- don't eyeball the hardener — 20 % by weight
- not for exterior use
- don't sand it green — it clogs paper
- keep water and waterborne products out of it

Safety: Solvent-borne 2K with an isocyanate hardener: flammable; spray in a booth with extraction, wear an combined A2P2 respirator (organic vapour + particulate, isocyanate aerosol), gloves and eye protection. Get the SDS from the supplier. (derived — nothing official published)
