APL22302
Leaf-effect metallic paint, Champagne
Solvent-borne metallic paint (single-pack — workshop inference: only a thinner is called for). Stands in for gilding and mimics leaf with a pearlescent sheen, making decorative work much cheaper. Imitates gold and silver in various shades; this code is the 'champagne' tone.
- decorating wood, metal, PU foam (PPU), glass and other materials
- faux gilding / leaf effect on carvings, frames, door fronts and trim (workshop suggestion)
- interior use only

Mixing matrix
- % by weight: 30 %dealer% by volume: 35 %dealer
Standard reduction for spraying; either S30 or S13.
Both are fast thinners (S13 is also catalogued for polyester and patinas); the dealer captions the pair 'thinner for PE / thinner for PU'. Stir up the settled pigment before thinning.
- S10Thinner% by weight: 30 в.ч. / parts by weight %catalog
Option from the 'Liquid gold leaf' series block in the catalogue; the dealer does not list it for APL22302.
Taken from the general 'Liquid gold leaf APL 2xxxx' series block in the leaf catalogue; APL22302 (the 'Effect leaf' line APL22300–22304) is not on that colour card and the dealer page does not give this figure — confirm with Technocolor.
- % by weight: 0–10 %recommended
Brushing (the dealer lists brush as a method but gives no recipe).

15–20 cm distance, 50 % overlap, steady pace; finish with a light mist pass from slightly further away to even out the pearl. Flush the gun straight away — the pigment settles in the passages.

Soft synthetic brush, lay it on in one pass and don't go back over it once it starts to set (it dries in minutes). Good for carving and touching up edges.
Process and compatibility

- Base of a similar colour (special-effects catalogue): PPS20 primer (2 coats) → PPL enamel tinted to RAL → leaf paint → ATL500 gloss lacquer. Surface primed, sanded and dust-free.catalog

- Temperature and humidity
- 18–25 °C, RH ≤70 %recommended
- Don'ts
- do not use outdoors — interior only
- never spray it unstirred: the pigment settles hard
- do not sand or polish the leaf coat
- do not flood the first lacquer coat on — start with a light mist coat or you may lift/disturb the metallic
- remember a gloss topcoat changes the effect — do a test panel

Safety: Solvent-borne: flammable; spray in an extracted booth wearing a carbon-filter respirator and gloves; no SDS found.
