CPS2
CPS2 solvent-borne pigment wood stain, red-orange (base concentrate)
Solvent-borne pigment wood stain, red-orange base concentrate of the CPS range. Evens out colour variation and hides wood defects, levels well, good lightfastness. Let down 5-20x with S10/S12/S90; with CFS1 binder it can be sprayed and wiped to pick out the pores of open-grain wood. Mixes with the other CPS colours and solvent-borne stains.
- Staining furniture in any wood species
- Tinting other CPS colours warmer (cherry, mahogany, teak)
- Evening out colour variation, imitating valuable species
- Pore highlighting on oak/ash (spray + wipe with CFS1)

- % by weight: 500–2000 %dealer% by volume: 500–2000 %dealer
S10 — fast, for fine-pore wood (beech, birch, maple, alder); S12 — medium, for medium-pore wood; S90 — slow, for open-grain wood (oak, ash) and big panels, gives more working time for wiping.
1 part CPS2 to 5-20 parts thinner. More thinner = lighter, more transparent. Dose by a test board, not by viscosity.

Solvent binder (spray grade) — for spray-and-wipe and pore highlighting; locks the pigment in.
Without binder — straight spraying.
- % by weight: 0–400 %catalog
2022 catalog lists binders CFS1, CFS3, CFS4 at 0-400 % without saying which is for which method (the dealer calls CFS1 'solvent binder for spraying').
- CFC3Additive% by weight: 200 %schedule
Roller-coating flat anegre-veneer panels under a UV system, 60-80 g/m².
The schedule names 'CPS' with no colour number. CFC3 appears nowhere else (probably roller binder CFS3).
- S90Thinner% by weight: 200 %schedule
UV schedule, roller application.

Custom shade — the series intermixes and mixes with other solvent-borne stains.
The catalogs only say CPS mixes with other solvent-borne stains; the codes listed are the series base colours from the 2022 catalog. Ready colours (CPS010…CPS046 in the 2022 catalog, CPS51-CPS62 at the dealer) mix too. Record recipes by weight; mix concentrates before adding thinner.

Stir thoroughly — the pigment settles. Keep shaking/stirring the cup while you work. Lay one even wet coat, no puddles; go lighter on end grain (it drinks more and goes darker). To wipe: spray, give it 1-3 min, then wipe along the grain with a sponge or lint-free rag, packing pigment into the pores (pore-highlight effect on open-grain wood — needs CFS1 binder).
Cloth or pad
- Consumption
- 80–100 g/m²dealer
Wiping with a sponge or soft rag removes the excess after application (Technocolor's method definition). For wiping/pore highlighting on oak/ash the 2025 catalog calls for a 'special binder'; the dealer lists only CFS1 (0-400 %) for CPS2, the 2022 catalog also CFS3/CFS4.
Roller coater (UV)

Flat parts on a roller-coater line only. In the official UV schedule the stain flashes 5 min at 20-25 °C before VTS20011 UV filler.
