CIT2 Kromoroller dye concentrate, orange

Solvent-based dye concentrate from the Milesi Kromoroller range, used to make up wood stains. Good lightfastness, clarity and bright colour. Does not raise the grain. Can be topcoated with nitro, PU, polyester and UV lacquers. The dealer describes it as a pigment dye that evens out colour variation in the substrate; apply by spraying or by wiping.

  • Colouring veneer and solid timber of any species
  • Evening out colour variation between parts
  • Highlighting the pores on open-grained species (oak, ash)
  • Intermixing with other CIT dyes to hit a shade
  • Roller-coater lines for flat panels

Always. The more thinner, the lighter and more transparent the tone.

S10 fast (PE thinner, also for gun cleaning), S12 nitro/dye thinner, S90 slow dye thinner (large panels, wipe-on, hot shop). LZC97 is listed only on the official page.

Binder — for wipe-on and roller application, so the colour stays in the pores and isn't dragged by the next coat.

No official page for CIC11/CIC12/CFS1. Dealer: CIC12 is a 'wiping binder for CIT pigment dyes', added to the ready-to-use CIT dye at 20–30 %, viscosity 53±3, full dry 3–4 h at 20 °C. No data for CIC11 or CFS1.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Spray-and-wipe (official 80–100 g/m²): spray, then immediately wipe along the grain — surplus comes off, pores stay dark. Best on oak and ash.

Process and compatibility

Substrate preparation
hand sanding with pneumatic sanders, abrasive belt P150 then P180; dust offschedule
Goes over
bare sanded wood (veneer or solid)
Sanding
Do not sand the dyed surface; denib only after the first primer coatrecommended
Temperature and humidity
15–25 °C, RH 50–70 %; use S90 above ~25 °C or on large areasrecommended
Don'ts
  • Don't flood it on — you get blotches and poor primer adhesion
  • Don't prime before the solvent has flashed off (at least 5–10 min in the booth at 20 °C)
  • Don't use the concentrate neat

Storage

Packaging

Safety: Contains organic solvents, flammable. Use in a ventilated spray booth, wear an organic-vapour respirator, no naked flames. Keep solvent-soaked rags in a closed metal bin.
