LZC97

LZC97 thinner

LZC-series thinner (by analogy with LZC70/LZC1051/LZC8643 probably a Milesi product; the maker is not stated anywhere) with no page of its own on t-color.ru and no listing at the t-colormarket.ru shop. It appears only on the official Kromoroller (CIT) and Kromolux (CLT) dye pages as one of the allowed reducers alongside S10, S12 and S90: CIT 500–2000 %, CLT 500–1000 % on the concentrate. Composition, evaporation rate and density are not published. In practice it is an alternative to S10/S12/S90 for letting dye concentrate down to a working stain; if you can't get LZC97, use S12 (medium evaporation, medium-pored wood) or S90 (slow, open-pored wood) per the 2025–2026 catalog p.19. The CIT8 page also lists LZC97 in its binder row, most likely a typo (the other CIT pages have CFS1 there).

  • Letting Kromoroller dye concentrates CIT1/2/3/8/9/9280 down to a working stain: 500–2000 %
  • Letting Kromolux dyes CLT1–CLT10 down to a working stain: 500–1000 %
  • Drop-in alternative to S10/S12/S90 at the same ratios

Kromoroller solvent-based dyes. 500 % for a strong colour, 2000 % for a light tint (reading of the range, not stated on the page). Optional binder 0–40 %: CIC11/CIC12/CFS1 (the CIT8 page shows LZC97 instead of CFS1 there — most likely a typo).

The CIT8 page also lists LZC97 in its binder block (CIC11/CIC12/LZC97, 0–40 %). A thinner can't act as a binder and CIT1/2/3/9/9280 have CFS1 in that slot, so treat it as a typo and don't use LZC97 as a binder.

Kromolux universal high-concentration dyes. CLT1–CLT9 can also be cut with water; CLT10 (white) lists solvents only (S10/S12/S90/LZC97). Optional binder 0–200 %: CFS1/CFH1 (CLT10: CFS1 only).

The CLT11, CLT12 and CLT18 pages have no thinner block, so LZC97 is not officially listed for them.

LZC97 is never sprayed on its own — this is how a stain cut with it goes on. Its evaporation rate is unknown, so do a test panel first and compare against S12/S90; if you get lap marks, switch to S90.

Don'ts
  • Don't use it to thin 2K lacquers/primers (PU/acrylic/PE) — they have their own thinners (S50/S80, LZC8643/LZC70 etc.); LZC97 is only listed for dyes
  • Don't mix it with water in the same batch
  • Don't go straight to production without a test panel — the evaporation rate isn't published

Safety: Assume a flammable liquid like any organic thinner. Use in a ventilated spray booth with an A2 organic-vapour respirator and nitrile gloves; no smoking or open flame. No SDS found.
