CLT22

CLT22 Kromolux dye concentrate, chestnut

Highly concentrated transparent dye (binder-free stain) from Milesi's Kromolux series, chestnut shade. Very clear and even; at higher strength it goes dark and stays transparent. Cut with deionised water or with S10/S12/S90 solvent, with or without CFS1/CFH1 binder. No page on t-color.ru; sold through the dealer t-colormarket.ru.

  • Staining all kinds of timber, veneer and solid
  • Furniture, fronts, mouldings and frames, general wooden articles (spray)
  • A warm chestnut brown that keeps the grain visible; fine-tune the shade by mixing with other Kromolux dyes

Mixing matrix

  • S10Thinner
    % by weight: 500–1000 %dealer% by volume: 500–1000 %dealer

Fast, strong thinner — stains on fine-pored timber (e.g. beech, birch, maple, alder), short flash-off between operations.

S10 use per the Technocolor 2025–2026 catalog thinner table (stains on fine-pored wood, polyester primers, patinas); the species examples are ours. The dealer labels S10 'thinner for polyester'. Its official page also lists it for gun cleaning.

  • S12Thinner
    % by weight: 500–1000 %dealer% by volume: 500–1000 %dealer

Medium evaporation — medium-pored timber (e.g. cherry, walnut); the default for a solvent-borne stain.

S12 is the dye thinner per its official page, and it is the thinner used in the dye steps of the official schedules.

  • S90Thinner
    % by weight: 500–1000 %dealer% by volume: 500–1000 %dealer

Slow — open-pored timber (oak, ash), large panels, hot shop: stays wet longer, fewer blotches and lap marks.

Dealer lists S90 as 'slow dye thinner'.

  • WATERThinner
    % by weight: 500–1000 %dealer% by volume: 500–1000 %dealer

Water dilution — less odour/VOC, raises the grain more and dries much slower (Milesi TDS: 8 h at 20 °C vs. minutes on solvent).

Deionised (distilled) water only — tap water makes the dye flocculate and lose colour stability (dealer note). Before a water stain, raise the grain with a damp sponge, dry and denib at P180–P220.

  • LZC97Thinner
    % by weight: 500–1000 %official% by volume: 500–1000 %official

Listed by Technocolor as a thinner. The Milesi TDS uses LZC97 as a small-share co-solvent alongside the main thinner (see the TDS rows).

LZC97's exact function is not documented by Technocolor; no product page. Not listed on the CLT22 dealer page — carried over from the official CLT4 page (same series).

  • CFS1Additive
    % by weight: 0–200 %dealer% by volume: 0–200 %dealer

Binder for the solvent-borne stain (with S10/S12/S90): locks the dye in, less bleeding/lifting when the sealer goes on, more even colour on end grain.

Role: binder. CFS1 = solvent-borne and CFH1 = water-borne follows from the schedules (CFS1 paired with S12, CFH1 with water); the dealer's ОР/ВР labels are listed in the opposite order.

  • CFH1Additive
    % by weight: 0–200 %dealer% by volume: 0–200 %dealer

    Binder for the water-diluted stain.

0 % = plain dye stain; with binder the colour holds better under the sealer.

  • LZC97 / LZC1000Thinner
    % by weight: CLT 1 : LZC97 0.5 : LZC1000 9.5 (≈ LZC97 50 % + LZC1000 950 %)datasheet

Milesi's suggested solvent dilution. LZC1000 is a Milesi code not sold by Technocolor; in practice S10/S12/S90 from the dealer's thinner list take its place — our interpretation, not stated anywhere.

  • LZC97 / WATERThinner
    % by weight: CLT 1 : LZC97 1 : water 14 (≈ LZC97 100 % + water 1400 %)datasheet

    Milesi's suggested water dilution.

  • LZC1000 / LZC1024 / LZC97 / LTC5 / WATERThinner
    % by weight: 500–800 %datasheet

    Milesi TDS: manual spray (5–20 g/m²), fixed automatic airmix/airless and swinging-arm guns (10–20 g/m²) — 500–800 %; rotating carousel (5–20 g/m²) — 700–1500 %.

The TDS leaves the weight/volume columns blank. The Technocolor dealer gives a wider 500–1000 %.

  • CFS1 / S12Additive
    % by weight: CFS1 200 % + S12 500 %schedule

    Raised-panel doors (PU): stain 80–100 g/m², 5 min at 20–25 °C, then PTS20+C25+S50 sealer.

The finishing schedule names the generic code 'CTU' (universal transparent dye). The Kromolux CLT dyes sit in the same 'Universal dyes' section on t-color.ru, so the recipe is carried over to CLT22 as a guide; that mapping is our interpretation, not an explicit CLT22 instruction.

  • CFS1 / S12Additive
    % by weight: CFS1 150 % + S12 500 %schedule

Mouldings and frames (UV): stain 80 g/m², 5 min at 25–30 °C, then VTS40041 UV sealer.

  • CFH1 / WATERAdditive
    % by weight: CFH1 400 % + вода/water 1000 %schedule

Schedule titled 'Open-pore oak kitchen fronts (acrylic)' (served at the …stoleshnits-oblitsovannyh-shponom-buka-pu URL): stain 80–100 g/m², 20 min at 20–25 °C, PTS60+C26+S50 sealer.

This schedule is written for the water dye CTH, not CLT; 400 % CFH1 exceeds CLT22's official 0–200 % — stay within 0–200 % for CLT22.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Hold the gun square at 15–20 cm, 50 % overlap. On profiles do edges and recesses first, then the field. Stir the mix before filling. 80–100 g/m² is the dealer figure (ready mix); the Milesi TDS gives 5–20 g/m² for manual spray at 500–800 % dilution — apparently counted as concentrate.

The Milesi TDS states 10–20 g/m² for automatic airmix — given the 500–800 % dilution this reads as concentrate, i.e. ~80–100 g/m² of ready mix.

For hand work prefer airmix/HVLP — airless has a coarser fan and more blotch risk.

Automatic rotating spray

Consumption
5–20 g/m² (rotating carousel, TDS; dilution 700–1500 %)datasheet

Milesi TDS: automatic rotating (carousel) spray, 5–20 g/m² at 700–1500 % dilution. The TDS does not mention electrostatics; if the carousel is electrostatic, a water dilution needs isolated equipment — use the solvent dilution.

Don'ts
  • Don't dilute with tap water — deionised only, or the dye flocculates
  • Don't exceed 200 % CFS1/CFH1 binder
  • Don't flood the surface — make a second light pass instead
  • Don't sand the bare dye coat — sand the sealer
  • Don't seal a water-diluted stain before it is fully dry (TDS: ~8 h at 20 °C or 20 min at 60 °C)

Safety: Composition and hazard class are not published (no CLT22 SDS found). Treat the concentrate and S10/S12/S90 mixes as flammable: spray in an extracted booth, no ignition sources, A2P2 respirator and nitrile gloves; keep solvent rags in a closed metal bin.
