CLT11
CLT11 Kromolux wood dye concentrate, yellow
Concentrated transparent wood dye from the Kromolux range, yellow. Very uniform, high concentration — lets you build deep, saturated shades while staying transparent. Thins with water or with solvent; use it with or without a binder. All dyes in the range can be intermixed in any ratio.
- Colouring all kinds of wood species (solid and veneer)
- Evening out colour variation, tinting, imitating precious species (yellow tones)
- Base for mixing custom shades with other CLT dyes

Mixing matrix
- % by weight: 500–1000 (typ. null) %dealer% by volume: 500–1000 %dealer
Solvent-borne version. Per the catalog (p.19): S10 is fast, for fine-pored wood (beech, maple, birch); S12 medium, for medium-pored wood; S90 slow, for large-pored wood (oak, ash). S12 is also the dye thinner in all Technocolor schedules. S90 also helps on large panels and in heat (fewer lap marks).
More thinner (towards 1000 %) = lighter, more even shade. The dealer captions them 'thinner for PE / for NC / slow dye thinner / water' — generic captions; dye use per the catalog.
- LZC97Thinner% by weight: 500–1000 %official% by volume: 500–1000 %official
Alternative thinner listed on the official CLT series pages.
Listed on the official CLT1-CLT9 pages (CLT11's page has no mixing block); the dealer lists only S10/S12/S90/water for CLT11 — confirm with Technocolor. No LZC97 product page in the sources.
- WATERThinner% by weight: 500–1000 %dealer% by volume: 500–1000 %dealer
Water-borne version — less smell, slower drying, raises the grain.
Deionised (distilled) water only — tap water can make the dye flocculate and lose colour stability in the can.
- CFS1Additive% by weight: 0–200 %dealer% by volume: 0–200 %dealer
Binder for the solvent version (with S10/S12/S90): locks the dye in, less bleeding into the primer, more even on end grain.
Dealer labels the CFH1/CFS1 pair 'solvent / water binder' in reversed order; Technocolor's schedules pair CFS1 with S12 (solvent) and CFH1 with water. 0 % = no binder.
- CFH1Additive% by weight: 0–200 %dealer% by volume: 0–200 %dealer
Binder for the water-thinned version.
See note under CFS1.

Moulding (UV) schedule: CTU 100 / CFS1 150 / S12 500, 80 g/m², 5 min at 25-30 °C.

Water-version analogue: 'Beech veneer worktops (PU)' schedule: CTH 100 / CFH1 400 / water 1000, 80-100 g/m², 20 min dry at 20-25 °C. Note 400 % binder is above the 0-200 % the dealer gives for CLT.

- Жидкому как вода материалу для распыления нужно мало энергии; низкое давление уменьшает отскок и туман перепыла, который оседает сухой пылью красителя. Давление на входе измеряйте при нажатом курке.

Cloth or pad
Only spray is official. A rag/pad works for touch-ups if you wipe off excess immediately, but expect lap marks on large panels. recommended
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Sand faces P150-P180-P220, profiles/edges with K60-K80 pads (per Technocolor schedules). Dust off. For the water version, pre-wet, dry and de-nib to raise the grain first.schedule
- Sanding effect
- Coarser sanding = more dye uptake = darker; finer = lighter. Sand every part to the same grit.official
- Goes over
- bare wood (solid / veneer)
- Temperature and humidity
- 18-25 °C, RH 50-70 %recommended
- Don'ts
- Don't thin with tap water — deionised only
- Don't sand the dye coat
- Don't lay it on heavy and wet — blotches and runs
- Don't mix water- and solvent-thinned batches
Storage
- Packaging

Safety: Concentrate composition is unpublished (it thins with both water and solvent — likely glycol/alcohol-solvent based): treat as flammable; spray with extraction, an organic-vapour (A) respirator and gloves. Solvent-thinned dye is highly flammable; the water version gives off less vapour, but don't breathe the mist.
