CIT3 Kromoroller dye stain, red
Transparent solvent-borne dye stain from the Kromoroller range (per the dealer for this series: made by MILESI, distributed by Technocolor), red shade. Good lightfastness, clarity and bright colour; does not raise the grain. Once dry it can be topcoated with nitro (NC), PU, polyester and UV lacquers/sealers. Must be cut with S10/S12/S90/LZC97 thinner (500–2000 % on the dye weight) before use, i.e. effectively a concentrate. A binder (CIC11/CIC12/CFS1, 0–40 %) may be added. Dyes within a series can be intermixed to build a shade (catalog).
- Staining veneer and solid wood (dealer note for the series: best on hard open-grain species such as oak and ash)
- Roller-coater staining of flat panels on a line (5–15 g/m²)
- Spray, or spray-and-wipe (80–100 g/m²)
- Shading/colour matching mixed with other CIT dyes
- Automated staining of solid oak under a gloss PE finish (official coffin finishing schedule)

- % by weight: 500–2000 %official% by volume: 500–2000 %official
Always — supplied as a concentrate. 500 % for a deep colour, 1000–2000 % for a light tone.
S10 — fast, also used for flushing equipment (official; dealer calls it 'thinner for PE'); S12 — NC thinner, suitable for thinning dyes (official); S90 — slow dye thinner (dealer name). LZC97 is listed as a thinner but its purpose isn't explained on the official site.

Roller coater and automated spray, fast flash, shop up to ~22 °C
Thinner choice is a recommendation, not Technocolor data
- S90Thinner% by weight: 800–1500 (typ. 1000) %recommended
Hand spraying large panels, spray-and-wipe, shop above ~25 °C

Binder, optional (0–40 %). By analogy with the catalog text for CPS: with the special binder the dye can be wiped on to accent pores in open-grain wood. Not stated officially for CIT.
The CIT3 page does not say which binder is for what. On the CIT8 page LZC97 replaces CFS1 in the binder list.

Spray then immediately wipe along the grain with a rag/pad. Add CIC11/CIC12/CFS1 binder for pore accent. The dealer (CIT1 page) gives 40–60 g/m² for wipe-only.

- Goes under
- ETS50
- Sanding
- Don't sand the stained wood before sealing — you'll cut through the colour. In the Technocolor schedule only the primed surface is sanded: after two ETS50 coats and 8–12 h drying, P360 then P400.recommended
- Temperature and humidity
- 20 °Cschedule
- Don'ts
- Don't apply the concentrate neat
- Don't flood end grain and edges — they go darker
- Don't seal before the solvent has flashed off (min. 5–10 min at 20 °C)
Storage
Safety: Contains organic solvents: flammable — use in a ventilated spray booth with an organic-vapour respirator and gloves. (Generic solvent-stain practice — no SDS found.)
