CIT9280
CIT9280 Kromoroller white solvent-borne stain concentrate
White solvent-borne stain concentrate from the Kromoroller line (MILESI) — a pigment paste you cut 1:5 to 1:20 with S10/S12/S90/LZC97 thinner (500–2000 %) to make a working stain. Evens out colour variation very well in the substrate, lightfast, gives a clean transparent tint and does not raise the grain. Roller-coat, spray, or spray-and-wipe. A binder (CIC11/CIC12/CFS1, 0–40 %) can be added. Top-coat with nitro, PU, polyester or UV sealers/lacquers. Works best on hard open-grain woods (oak, ash) for a limed/whitewashed look with highlighted pores.
- Tinting any wood species and evening out colour variation
- Limed / whitewashed oak and ash with pores picked out (dealer: best on hard open-grain species)
- Flat panels on roller-coater lines, 5–15 g/m²
- Stain step before polyester primer in industrial solid-oak finishing (schedule 'coffin finishing')
- Shading other CIT colours lighter / mixing custom tones

Always — the concentrate is never applied neat. 500 % for a strong limed tone / wiping; 1000–2000 % for a light whitewash or roller coat.
S10 — official 'fast drying', SG 0.79 (the dealer labels it polyester thinner); S12 — nitro (NC) thinner; S90 — slow stain thinner (dealer) for wiping, big panels, hot shop; LZC97 appears only on the official page (no product page). Dealer gives the same 500–2000 % by weight and by volume for S10/S12/S90 (no LZC97).
- % by weight: 0–40 %official% by volume: 0–40 %official
Optional: binder anchors the pigment — use it for spray-and-wipe (longer working, better pore hold) and so the next sealer coat does not drag the stain.
0 % = plain stain with no binder. The dealer does not mention a binder. Purpose by analogy with the CPS series in the catalog (binder → wiping, pore highlighting); the rest is an engineering reading (derived).

Schedule 'coffin finishing (PE, clear, gloss)': CIT stain by automatic spray 80–100 g/m², dry 5–10 min at 20 °C, then ETS50 polyester primer (+EC1/EA1, S10/S11).

Spray-and-wipe 80–100 g/m² (official); wipe-only 40–60 g/m² (dealer). Wipe with a lint-free rag/pad across then along the grain so the white stays in the pores (limed oak/ash). Slow S90 and a binder make wiping easier.

Brush is not an official method; fine for touch-ups if wiped off with a rag afterwards (derived).
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Sand P150–P180 (schedule); de-dust. For a limed finish open the pores with a brush (oak, ash).schedule
- Goes over
- bare wood
- Sanding
- Never sand the stain itself — you cut through the colour. Sand the first sealer coat instead (P360–P400 after the PE primer in the schedule).recommended
- Temperature and humidity
- Around 20 °C (schedule conditions), 50–70 % RH; S90 in hot conditions.recommended
- Don'ts
- Don't apply the concentrate neat
- Don't seal before the solvent has left the pores — the sealer will drag the stain
- No water — this is a solvent-borne stain
- Don't sand the stain layer
Storage
- Packaging
- 1 kg,5 kgdealer
Safety: Solvent-borne and flammable (as are the S10/S12/S90 thinners). Spray in a ventilated booth with an A-filter respirator, away from ignition sources. Keep used wiping rags in a closed metal can. No official SDS found (derived).
