CQS1
CQS1 Patina, yellow (solvent-borne)
Solvent-borne yellow patina. Sprayed over PU or acrylic primers/enamels; after a short flash the excess is wiped back by hand with a Scotch-Brite pad or steel wool so the colour stays in the pores, profile recesses and on edges, giving an aged / decapé look. Fast-drying, easy to wipe back, very low consumption. Must be top-coated with a clear lacquer.
- Ageing (patinating) indoor furniture and wooden items
- Decapé effect on open-pore oak (colour left in the pores)
- Patina over enamel on profiled cabinet doors
- Finishing PU foam / polyurethane and polystone mouldings
- Ageing metallic-effect enamel (APL800XX); 'stone' special effect (spattered drops)

Mixing matrix
- % by weight: 100–200 %official% by volume: 100–200 %official
Standard reduction for spraying (official page and dealer).
S2000 is the dedicated patina thinner; S10 (listed by the dealer as the polyester thinner) makes the patina harder to wipe back.
Wider range per the 2025–2026 catalog — for a more transparent, lighter patina.
Catalog gives 100–300 % without stating weight or volume basis — hence pct_unspecified, not pct_weight.
- S10Thinner% by weight: 100 %schedule
t-color.ru schedules: decapé oak (acrylic), open-pore oak doors (acrylic), PU-foam items (PU) — all CQS 100 % + S10 100 %.
1:1 with S10; 80–100 g/m² (decapé and PU-foam schedules; the open-pore schedule gives no consumption). Schedules just say '%', basis unstated.
- ethanolThinner
When the patina must wipe back more easily (subtle patina, large hand-wiped areas).
Dealer: reduced with ethyl alcohol the patina wipes off more easily, with S10 it is harder to remove. No ratio given — start at the same 100–200 %.
- S10Thinner
'Wash-out' effect (catalog names CQS 21–26 only, not CQS1): neat S10 is sprayed at low pressure over fresh patina so it runs and blurs.
'Stone' effect (applies to CQS1): CTU/CQS and S10 are spattered as drops at minimum gun pressure. No ratios given.

Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Apply over cured PU or acrylic primer/enamel. Schedules: decapé — over APL20 enamel after 1.5 h at 30–35 °C (no sanding of the enamel before patina is listed; the APS20 primer underneath is sanded P240–P320 + K120 pads); open-pore oak — over ATS20 primer sanded P240–P320 + K60–K80 pads; PU foam — over PPL20 enamel after 4 h at 20–25 °C (K120 pads only on the PPS20040 primer under the enamel).schedule
- Sanding
- Excess is removed by wiping, not sanding: Scotch-Brite 07448 / S UFN (oak), No.2 steel wool (PU foam).schedule
- Temperature and humidity
- Patina flash before wipe-back: 20–25 °C (schedules). Application temperature and RH not stated.schedule
- Don'ts
- Don't leave the patina without a clear lacquer — it is not a topcoat.
- Don't apply over uncured primer/enamel — it grabs everywhere and won't wipe back.
- Don't wait too long before wiping back: past ~10 min it gets harder, especially when reduced with S10.
- Don't flood it — 80–100 g/m² is already the reduced wet amount.
