CPS021 Solvent-borne pigment wood stain, Teak

Ready-mixed solvent-borne pigment stain in a teak shade — a warm golden brown. Evens out colour variation and hides wood defects, levels well and is lightfast. Comes practically ready to spray: let down 0-100 % with S10/S12/S90 if needed. Spray, spray-and-wipe or roller-coat; overcoat with primer after 20 minutes.

  • Staining furniture in any wood species
  • Teak look on pale or cheaper species (beech, birch, pine, alder)
  • Evening out colour on solid wood and veneer
  • Pore highlighting on open-grain wood (wipe-on)
  • Tinting other solvent-borne stains

Ready colour: can be sprayed neat; up to 100 % thinner gives a lighter, more see-through teak. The dealer pairs it with S90 and S12.

'With the special binder it can be wiped on' — for a pore-highlight effect on oak/ash.

Officially 0-400 % CFS1 for the CPS concentrates; the dealer lists no binder for CPS021 — test on a sample first.

  • CFC3Additive
    % by weight: 200 %schedule

Flat anegre-veneered panels under a UV system, 60-80 g/m². The schedule doesn't state how the stain is applied (60-80 g/m² is a spray-level rate, not the 10-20 g/m² roller rate). It names the CPS series, not a specific colour.

  • S90Thinner
    % by weight: 200 %schedule

    Same anegre-veneer UV schedule.

Stir well before and during use — the pigment settles. Teak is a warm golden brown: on pale woods (beech, birch) it lays down more evenly with S10/S12; on oak/ash the pigment packs into the pores, so wipe straight after spraying. One even wet coat, go lighter on end grain (it drinks more and goes darker). Always do a test panel on the same species.

More overspray than HVLP: open the fan wide, hold the gun 20-25 cm off.

Cloth or pad

Wiping with a sponge or soft rag removes the excess layer after application (Technocolor's method definition). For a pore-highlight effect on oak/ash use a binder (CFS1 per the official CPS9 page).

Roller coater (UV)

Flat parts on a roller-coater line only (official series rate 10-20 g/m²). The separate anegre UV schedule gives CPS+CFC3+S90 at 60-80 g/m² without naming the method — that is a spray-level rate, not a roller rate.
