CPS030
CPS030 Solvent-borne pigment stain, Pine
Ready-to-use solvent-borne pigment stain in a 'pine' shade. Good hiding, evens out colour variation and hides wood defects, levels well, lightfast. Spray as supplied or cut with S10/S12/S90 up to 100 %; dry in 20 minutes, then prime. Mixes with other solvent-borne CPS stains for custom shades.
- Staining furniture in any wood species
- Pine-tone staining of solid wood and veneer, evening out colour
- Hiding defects and blotches on cheaper timber
- Custom shades by blending with other CPS stains

S10 — fast, for stains on fine-pore wood; S12 — medium evaporation, for medium-pore wood; S90 — slow evaporation, for open-pore (coarse-grained) wood.
Ready colour: use as supplied or cut up to 1:1. More thinner = lighter, more transparent tone and less blotching on pine. Always do a test board.

S10 — fast, for stains on fine-pore wood; S12 — medium evaporation, for medium-pore wood; S90 — slow evaporation, for open-pore (coarse-grained) wood.
2025/26 catalog figure for the whole CPS series — it applies to the base concentrates (CPS1-CPS10). For ready CPS030 the dealer gives 0-100 %; this much thinner gives a very pale wash.

2022 catalog, whole CPS series (concentrates). Not a working recipe for CPS030.
- % by weight: 0–400 %catalog% by volume: 0–400 %official
Binder for wipe-on application / pore-highlight effect on open-pore wood (catalog). The 2022 catalog lists CFS1, CFS3, CFS4 without saying which is for which method; the official CPS9 page lists only CFS1. Not listed on the dealer's CPS030 page — test first.
- CFC3Additive% by weight: 200 %schedule
Flat (anegre veneer) panels under a UV system, 60-80 g/m². The schedule does not state the application method, and names the CPS series, not a specific colour.
CFC3 isn't sold by the dealer; confirm with Technocolor.
- S90Thinner% by weight: 200 %schedule
Same flat-panel UV schedule: slow S90.

Stir well — the pigment settles; keep shaking the cup as you go. One even wet coat, no puddles. Pine, spruce and other softwoods blotch (resin and latewood take stain differently) — always test on an offcut of the same board; go lighter on end grain. You can wipe with a sponge/rag right after spraying to even the tone.

More overspray than HVLP; open the fan wide and hold the gun 20-25 cm off.
Cloth or pad
Spray, then wipe straight away with a sponge/lint-free rag along the grain — takes off the excess and evens out pine blotching. For a pore-highlight effect (oak/ash) the CPS series uses CFS1 binder — not listed on the dealer's CPS030 page.
Roller coater (UV)
Flat parts on a roller line only, 10-20 g/m² (2025/26 catalog and the official CPS9 page, series figure). The dealer lists only spraying for CPS030.

Uv flat panel schedule
Official UV schedule for flat anegre-veneer panels. 60-80 g/m² is for the working mix (CPS heavily let down with CFC3 and S90), not the catalog roller rate (10-20 g/m²). The schedule doesn't name the application method.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Sand P150 → P180 → P220 (belt), de-dust., On pine and other softwoods — dig out resin pockets and wipe resinous spots with solvent; for an even tone a thin washcoat first helps against blotching — test it.
- Sanding
- Never sand the stain itself. Sand only the first primer coat (P280-P320); if you cut through to the stain, touch it up.recommended
- Temperature and humidity
- 15-25 °C, RH ≤ 75 %recommended
