CPS61
CPS61 Solvent-borne pigment wood stain, grey oak
Ready-to-use solvent-borne pigment wood stain in 'grey oak'. Evens out colour variation and hides defects, levels well, lightfast. Spray-and-wipe, spray only, or roller-coat. The dealer lists it for furniture in any species, interior and exterior; the sibling official pages (CPS58, CPS62) describe the series as wiping stains for exterior wood.
- Staining furniture in any wood species
- Grey 'weathered/limed' oak and ash with pore highlight (wipe-on)
- Exterior: decks, verandas, gazebos, garden furniture, boardwalks, cladding, fences — only under a weather-resistant topcoat

Mixing matrix
- % by weight: 500–1000 %catalog
S10 — fast, for fine-pore wood (beech, birch, maple, alder); S12 — medium, for medium-pore wood; S90 — slow, for open-grain wood (oak, ash) and big panels, gives more working time for wiping.
2025/26 catalog figure for the whole CPS series; it really describes the concentrates (CPS8/9/10 etc.). On the ready colour CPS61 that much thinner gives only a faint tint — not a default recipe.

Figure from the dealer page of sibling ready colour CPS037 (0-100 % by weight and by volume); not stated for CPS61 itself. Default is undiluted; thinner weakens the grey — test on an offcut.
- CFS1Additive% by weight: 0–400 %official% by volume: 0–400 %official
Solvent binder (spray grade) — for wipe-on/pore-highlight work and to lock the pigment in.
Not stated for CPS61. The concentrate CPS9 (official + dealer) lists CFS1 0-400 %, but the ready colour CPS037's dealer table does not. Catalog 2025/26 (CPS series): 'with the special binder it can be applied by wiping'.
- CFC3Additive% by weight: 200 %schedule
UV schedule: flat anegre-veneer panels, 60-80 g/m² (the schedule does not name the application method).
The schedule names the CPS series, not a colour. CFC3 is not defined anywhere on the site (probably a binder) — confirm with Technocolor.
- S90Thinner% by weight: 200 %schedule
UV schedule, flat panels (application method not stated).
- CPS51 / CPS52 / CPS53 / CPS54 / CPS55 / CPS56 / CPS57 / CPS58 / CPS59 / CPS60 / CPS62 / CPS8 / CPS9 / CPS10Additive% by weight: any ratio %catalog
For a custom shade: CPS10 (white) for a lighter, limed oak; CPS9 (black) for darker and cooler; CPS8 (blue) to kill yellowness.
Record ratios by weight; test on the same wood under the same topcoat.

Stir thoroughly — the pigment settles. Keep shaking/stirring the cup while you work. Lay one even wet coat, no puddles; go lighter on end grain (it drinks more and goes darker). To wipe: spray, give it 1-3 min, then wipe along the grain with a sponge or lint-free rag, packing pigment into the pores (pore-highlight effect on open-grain wood — needs CFS1 binder). CPS61 is a ready colour, 'grey oak': the grey pigment reads best packed into the pores of oak and ash; on close-grain wood (beech, birch, maple) it can look muddy — test on an offcut.

Spray only, no wiping: one even wet coat, no puddling in the pores. Stir well — the pigment settles. Without wiping the grey comes out denser and hides more of the grain.
Cloth or pad
Wiping with a sponge or soft rag removes the excess after spraying (Technocolor's method definition). For a pore-highlight effect on oak/ash use CFS1 binder.
Roller coater (UV)
Flat parts on a roller-coater line only, 10-20 g/m² (dealer). The official UV schedule (60-80 g/m², CPS:CFC3:S90 = 100:200:200) doesn't name the application method; the stain flashes 5 min at 20-25 °C before VTS20011 UV filler.

Not listed by Technocolor. Fine for touch-up and for exterior work (fences, decking): brush on, wipe along the grain with a rag after 1-3 min to take off the excess.
