CPS043
CPS043 Solvent-borne pigment stain, oak
Solvent-borne pigment wood stain, ready colour 'oak'. Supplied close to working strength — let down 0-100 % with S10/S12/S90. Evens out colour variation and hides wood defects, levels well, good lightfastness. Gives a calm natural oak tone on pale or patchy species; intermixes with other CPS colours and solvent-borne stains for custom shades.
- Staining furniture in any wood species
- Veneered panels and solid wood
- Oak tone on pale or patchy species (birch, beech, alder, pine, oak with sapwood)
- Evening out colour across glued-up solid-wood lamellas

S10 — fast, for fine-pore wood (catalog); S12 — medium evaporation, for medium-pore wood (catalog; the dealer calls it 'NC thinner'); S90 — slow, for open-grain wood such as oak or ash (catalog). Shop practice, not from the catalog: S10 in a cold shop, S90 on big panels or above ~25 °C for fewer stripes and less clouding.
Usable straight from the can; thinner (up to 1:1) makes the tone lighter and more transparent and the spray more even. Dial it in on a sample board and record by weight.

2025/26 catalog figure for the whole CPS series — applies to the concentrates; for the ready colour CPS043 the dealer gives 0-100 %.

Mainly for wipe-on work (pore highlighting on open-grain wood): the solvent-borne binder fixes the pigment. The dealer names CFS1 as the solvent binder 'for spraying / for roller / for wiping'.
The dealer lists no binder for CPS043. The catalog allows wiping for the series when a special binder is used. For a ready colour start at 20-40 % (as for CPS22) and test on a sample.
- CFC3Additive% by weight: 200 %schedule
Flat veneered panels in a UV schedule, 60-80 g/m² (CPS series in general). The schedule gives no application method; this rate is closer to spray (80-100) than to the catalog roller rate (10-20).
The code CFC3 appears nowhere else. CFS1 is the only binder listed for CPS (official CPS9/CPS10 pages, dealer), so CFC3 is probably a typo. Confirm with Technocolor.
- S90Thinner% by weight: 200 %schedule
UV schedule (flat panels), application method not stated.
- CPSAdditive% by weight: not specified %catalog
For a custom shade: intermixes with other solvent-borne stains (catalog). For example, CPS9 to deepen, CPS10 to lighten or for a whitened oak (example, not from the catalog).

Stir thoroughly before and shake the cup while working — the pigment settles. Lay one even wet coat with no puddles; end grain soaks up more and goes darker, so go lighter there. The dealer lists spraying only; wipe-on only with a binder (see mix).

Roller coating at 10-20 g/m² is the catalog figure for the whole series; the dealer page for CPS043 lists spray only. UV anegre schedule (method not stated): CPS 100 : CFC3 200 : S90 200, 60-80 g/m².
