CPS045

CPS045 solvent-borne pigment stain, Dark Cherry

Ready-to-use solvent-borne pigment stain in Dark Cherry. Evens out colour variation and masks wood defects, levels the colour well, good lightfastness. Comes near working strength: thin with S10/S12/S90 from 0 to 100 %. Spray at 80-100 g/m²; per the series data it can also be sprayed-and-wiped or roller-coated. Intermixes with the rest of the CPS range and other solvent-borne stains for a custom shade.

  • Staining furniture in any wood species
  • Dark-cherry tone on veneer and solid wood
  • Cherry imitation on pale species (birch, beech, alder, maple)
  • Evening out colour variation

2025/26 catalog figure for the whole CPS series (aimed at the concentrates); the 2022 catalog and the official CPS9/CPS10 pages give 500-2000 %. For ready colour CPS045 the dealer's 0-100 % takes priority.

  • CFS1 / CFS3 / CFS4Additive
    % by weight: 0–400 %catalog

    CFS1 for spraying, CFS3 for roller coating, CFS4 for wiping (2022 catalog: 'CFS1, CFS3, CFS4 0-400 %'; the official CPS9 page lists only CFS1 0-400 %).

The dealer lists no binder for ready colour CPS045; 20-40 % CFS1 is a sensible start — that is what the dealer gives for CPS22 (one row labelled 'solvent binder for spraying / for rollers / for wiping').

  • CFC3Additive
    % by weight: 200 %schedule

Roller-coating flat (anegre veneer) panels under a UV system, 60-80 g/m².

CFC3 has no product page and isn't sold by the dealer; from the recipe it is a stain binder (possibly a typo for CFS3, the roller binder — a guess). Confirm with Technocolor.

Stir thoroughly — the pigment settles. Keep shaking/stirring the cup while you work. Lay one even wet coat, no puddles; go lighter on end grain (it drinks more and goes darker). To wipe: spray, give it 1-3 min, then wipe along the grain with a sponge or lint-free rag, packing pigment into the pores (pore-highlight effect on open-grain wood — needs CFS1 binder).

Cloth or pad

Wiping with a sponge or soft rag removes the excess after spraying (Technocolor's method definition). For a pore-highlight effect on oak/ash use CFS1 binder.

Roller coater (UV)

Flat parts on a roller-coater line only. In the official UV schedule the stain flashes 5 min at 20-25 °C before VTS20011 UV filler.
