EPS20
EPS20 white polyester (PE) primer
White unsaturated-polyester primer with very high solids and hardness. Practically no shrink-back over time, sands well by hand or machine. A build/filling primer for high-gloss (and also matt) finishes on MDF. Cured with EC1/EC2 peroxide plus EA1 accelerator - nearly all of what you spray stays on the panel, so one or two passes give a thick, flat build. Dealer notes a reformulated version with better flow, easier sanding and better hiding on routed relief.
- MDF furniture fronts and panels
- Build primer under high-gloss work including polished finishes (catalog, official PE+PU schedule)
- Under matt and gloss topcoats
- Bathroom fronts: PTS71 → 2× EPS20 → PPL200 gloss enamel (official schedule)

- EC1Hardener% by weight: 2 %official% by volume: 3 %official
Standard peroxide catalyst for PE (catalog). Default choice.
Catalog 2025-26 and 2019: EC1/EC2 2 %. Add LAST, after the accelerator is fully stirred into the base.
- EC1Hardener% by weight: 3 %dealer
Faster cure (cold shop, quicker sanding): EC1 up to 3 %, optionally with EA1 up to 3 %.
Dealer note. Pot life drops noticeably - mix small batches.
- EC2Hardener% by weight: 2 %official% by volume: 3 %official
Slow catalyst: hot weather, big batches, long time at the gun.
Catalog: EC2 is the slow PE catalyst, extends pot life of the mix.
- EA1Accelerator% by weight: 2 %official% by volume: 2.5 %official
Always required: PE won't cure at room temperature without it.
Catalogs 2019 & 2025-26: EA1 2 %. Stir into the base FIRST, mix well, then add catalyst. Never mix EA1 and EC1 directly together - violent reaction, fire risk.
- EA1Accelerator% by weight: 1–1.5 %dealer
Longer pot life needed: EA1 cut to 1.5–1 % with EC1 at 2 %.
Dealer. Drying and time-to-sand get longer.
- EA1Accelerator% by weight: 3 %dealer
Maximum speed-up: EA1 3 % + EC1 3 %.
Dealer. Very short pot life.

Official page and 2025-26 catalog: S10 or S30. S10 is fast with strong cutting power and is listed for PE primers; S30 is a fast general thinner (PU/acrylic/PE/UV).
S10 also works as gun wash (official S10 page). Thinner does not change PE cure time.
- S13Thinner% by weight: 10–15 %dealer% by volume: 15–20 %dealer
Dealer lists S13 'thinner for PE' (fast; catalog: PE primers, stains, patinas, PU/acrylic/UV).
- % by weight: 15 %schedule
Official schedule 'Gloss MDF bathroom fronts (PE+PU)': EPS20 100 + EA1 2 + EC1 2 + S10 (S11) 15, 250 g/m².
S11 is medium evaporation (catalog: for PE gloss lacquers); use it in heat or on big flats for better flow-out.
- % by weight: 5–15 %catalog
Technocolor 2019 catalog: S10, S11 at 5–15 %.

Flush the gun with S10 right after spraying and well inside the pot life - gelled PE won't come out of the passages. Mix only what you can spray in 15–20 minutes. Strain before filling (125–190 µm).

Technocolor doesn't list airmix for EPS20 - this is a recommendation. Short PE pot life (≈20 min) in a pump is dangerous: use plural-component (separate catalyst feed) rigs only, or very small batches with an immediate flush.

- Don'ts
- Never mix EA1 accelerator and EC1/EC2 catalyst directly together - add them to the base one at a time: EA1 first, stir, then EC.
- Don't exceed 15 % thinner - you lose build and flatness.
- Don't leave mixed material in the gun/lines past pot life (≈20 min at 20 °C).
- Don't sand before 12 h at 20 °C - paper loads up and scratches can sink later.
- Don't spray straight onto bare MDF - seal/key it first (PTS71 / PTS20700).
Storage
- Packaging
- 25 кгdealer
Safety: Flammable (S10/S30/S13 thinners; styrene-type base typical of PE). EC catalyst is an organic peroxide/oxidiser: store away from EA1 accelerator and heat; don't soak up spills with sawdust or rags. Spray in an extracted booth with an A2P2 organic-vapour respirator, nitrile gloves and goggles. Don't cap leftover mix - it heats up as it cures.
