LOB810

LOB810 Hardener (peroxide catalyst) for polyester materials

MILESI's standard hardener for polyester (PE) materials. Goes into the LRA52, LRA923, LRA98 and LRR16 PE primers at 2 % by weight (2 % by volume), always AFTER the LOB828/LOB6AA1 accelerator has been stirred into the base. The slow alternative is LOB5 (officially listed only for LRR16).

  • curing the clear PE primers LRA52, LRA923, LRA98
  • curing the white PE primer LRR16
  • normal shop conditions (~20 °C) and normal film builds of 150–200 g/m²

Mixing matrix

  • LOB828 / LOB6AA1Accelerator
    % by weight: 2 %official% by volume: 2 %official

    Always used with LOB810. LRA98: LOB828 only; LRA52/LRA923/LRR16: LOB828 or LOB6AA1.

Stir the accelerator into the base FIRST, then LOB810. Never pour accelerator and peroxide hardener into each other neat — violent reaction, possible fire.

  • LOB5Hardener
    % by weight: 2 %official% by volume: 2 %official

Instead of LOB810 (not together): cold shop, heavy builds, longer pot life needed. Officially listed only for LRR16 ("LOB810/LOB5").

Dealer: slow cure, even through-cure of the full film thickness.

  • S10 / S11Thinner
    % by weight: 10 %official% by volume: 10 %official

S10 fast, the standard for PE primers; S11 medium evaporation (hot shop, big panels). LRA98 lists S10 only.

Thinner neither replaces nor speeds up the hardener.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Density
not published (peroxide hardeners of this type ≈1.1–1.2 g/cm³)recommended
Pot life

Application

Conventional spray

Nozzle
1.8–2.2recommended
Pressure · air
2–2.5 bar at gun inlet (HVLP ≤0.7 bar at cap)recommended
Consumption
150–200 g/m²official

See the primer records for full spray settings. Flush the gun with S10 straight away — cured PE will not wash out of the nozzle.

Airmix (air-assisted airless)

Nozzle
0.28–0.33 mm (11–13 thou)recommended
Pressure · fluid
10–20 barrecommended
Pressure · air
1–2 barofficial

Only with small batches or a plural-component rig, otherwise the mix gels in the hose. For primers on large flat panels Technocolor's methods page recommends airless (up to 200 bar).

Process and compatibility

Order of addition
base (stirred),accelerator LOB828/LOB6AA1 — stir in fully,thinner S10/S11,hardener LOB810 — stir in, rest 2–3 min, sprayrecommended
Temperature and humidity
18–25 °C, RH ≤ 75 %; below ~15 °C or for thick builds consider LOB5recommended
Don'ts
  • mix LOB810 neat with the accelerator
  • use LOB810 in PU/acrylic materials — it is not an isocyanate hardener
  • mix LOB810 and LOB5 in the same batch
  • keep a mixed leftover in a closed can — it heats up and gasses
  • pour leftover mix into the general waste drum — let it cure separately

Storage

Shelf life
typically 6–12 months in the closed original containerrecommended
Storage temperature
cool, ≤25 °C, away from sun, heat and accelerators/metal saltsrecommended
Packaging
sold per kg («Упаковка, кг: -»); price 2 316 ₽/кг, «Под заказ» (2026-10-04)dealer

Safety: Organic peroxide (presumed): oxidiser, causes severe skin and eye burns. Wear nitrile gloves and goggles; eye contact — rinse with water for 15 min and get medical help. Store apart from the accelerator, acids and metal swarf. Check the supplier SDS.
