CPS011
CPS011 Solvent-borne pigment stain, Dark Chestnut
Solvent-borne pigment wood stain, ready colour 'dark chestnut'. Evens out colour variation, hides wood defects, levels well and is lightfast. Gives a calm, natural deep-brown tone. Intermixes with other CPS stains and solvent-borne stains; with CFS1 binder it can be wiped on to pop the pores on oak and ash.
- Staining furniture in any wood species
- Veneered panels and solid wood
- Evening out colour variation, imitating dark species (walnut, chestnut)
- Pore highlighting on oak/ash by wiping with CFS1 binder

S10 — fast, for fine-pore wood (beech, birch, maple, alder); S12 — medium, for medium-pore wood; S90 — slow, for open-grain wood (oak, ash) and big panels, gives more working time for wiping.
Ready colour: spray neat or let down up to 1:1. More thinner = lighter shade.

Stir thoroughly — the pigment settles. Keep shaking/stirring the cup while you work. Lay one even wet coat, no puddles; go lighter on end grain (it drinks more and goes darker). To wipe: spray, give it 1-3 min, then wipe along the grain with a sponge or lint-free rag, packing pigment into the pores (pore-highlight effect on open-grain wood — needs CFS1 binder).
Cloth or pad
Wiping with a sponge or soft rag removes the excess after spraying (Technocolor's method definition). For a pore-highlight effect on oak/ash use CFS1 binder.
Roller coater (UV)
Flat parts on a roller-coater line only. In the official UV schedule the stain flashes 5 min at 20-25 °C before VTS20011 UV filler.
