CPS22
CPS22 Solvent-borne pigment stain, light walnut
Solvent-borne pigment wood stain, ready colour 'light walnut'. Evens out colour variation and hides wood defects, levels well, good lightfastness. Gives a calm natural tone; with CFS1 binder it can be sprayed and wiped to pick out the pores of open-grain wood. Intermixes with other CPS colours and solvent-borne stains for custom shades.
- Staining furniture in any wood species
- Veneered panels and solid wood
- Evening out colour variation, walnut look on pale species (birch, beech, alder, pine)
- Pore highlighting on oak/ash (spray + wipe with CFS1 binder)

Mixing matrix
- CFS1Additive% by weight: 20–40 %dealer% by volume: 20–40 %dealer
Solvent binder for spraying, roller and wiping: locks the pigment in and lets you wipe.
Can be sprayed without binder; for wipe-on work the binder is a must.

S10 — fast, for fine-pore wood (beech, birch, maple, alder); S12 — medium (NC thinner), for medium-pore wood; S31 — medium evaporation; S90 — slow, for open-grain wood (oak, ash) and large panels, gives time to wipe.
2-10 parts thinner to 1 part stain; more thinner = lighter, more transparent tone. Dial it in on a sample board and record by weight.

2025/26 catalog figure for the whole CPS series (2022 catalog and the official CPS9/CPS10 concentrate cards give 500-2000 %). No by-volume figure in the catalog.
- % by weight: 0–400 %catalog
The 2022 catalog lists CFS1, CFS3, CFS4 without saying which is which. The dealer labels the binder "for spraying / for roller / for wiping" — probably CFS1 = spray, CFS3/CFS4 = roller/wiping (unconfirmed).
- CFC3Additive% by weight: 200 %schedule
Official UV schedule: flat anegre-veneered panels, 60-80 g/m² (method not stated in the schedule; the rate matches spraying, not the 10-20 g/m² roller rate).
CFC3 appears nowhere else — probably the roller binder (CFS3). Confirm with Technocolor.
- S90Thinner% by weight: 200 %schedule
Official UV schedule: flat anegre-veneered panels, 60-80 g/m² (method not stated in the schedule; the rate matches spraying, not the 10-20 g/m² roller rate).
- CPSAdditive% by weight: not specified %catalog
For a custom shade: mixes with other CPS colours (e.g. CPS23 "antique walnut", CPS9 black to deepen) and solvent-borne stains (the catalog gives no ratios).

Stir thoroughly — the pigment settles. Keep shaking/stirring the cup while you work. Lay one even wet coat, no puddles; go lighter on end grain (it drinks more and goes darker). To wipe: spray, give it 1-3 min, then wipe along the grain with a sponge or lint-free rag, packing pigment into the pores (pore-highlight effect on open-grain wood — needs CFS1 binder).
Cloth or pad
Wiping with a sponge or soft rag removes the excess after spraying (Technocolor's method definition). For a pore-highlight effect on oak/ash use CFS1 binder.
Roller coater (UV)
Flat parts on a roller-coater line only, 10-20 g/m² (dealer). The official UV schedule (60-80 g/m², 5 min flash at 20-25 °C before VTS20011 UV filler) does not state the application method.
