LZC1026

LZC1026 Universal PU thinner (Milesi 'Diluente universale')

Milesi universal thinner for 2K polyurethane and nitrocellulose products, medium evaporation, for 18–22 °C. No Technocolor product page of its own, but it is the listed thinner for the LBA/LBR PU primers, LGA22/LGA84/LDA846 lacquers, the KGA1 converter and the LJA99 acrylic sealer.

  • Reducing 2K PU primers (LBA42, LBA521, LBA528, LBR102, LBR21811, LBR90) to spray viscosity
  • Reducing the LGA22, LGA84, LDA846 PU lacquers and the KGA1 converter
  • Reducing the LJA99 acrylic sealer (with LNB99)
  • Per Milesi, also nitrocellulose (NC) products

Mixing matrix

  • LZC1026Thinner
    % by weight: 20–40 %dealer

Clear PU sealers: close-grained wood 20 %; open-pored wood (mahogany etc.) 30–40 % on the first coat, 20 % on following coats.

Target ~18 s Ford 4. Extra reduction lowers surface tension so the sealer flows into the pores.

  • LTZ40Additive
    % by weight: 0–5 %dealer

In very hot conditions — up to 5 % LTZ40 retarder instead of switching to a slower reducer.

LTZ40 is not in Technocolor's catalogue; the Technocolor route is the slow LZC8643 where it is listed.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Not covered by the sources
  • No official t-color.ru product page and no t-colormarket.ru listing (no dealer technical-characteristics block)
  • No single-product TDS/SDS for LZC1026 (faichim.com links return 404); only the 1998 Milesi LZC collective sheet
  • Density discrepancy: 0.850 (1998 sheet) vs 0.875–0.883 (current product TDS)
  • Evaporation class ambiguous: 'medio' (Milesi sheet) vs 'fast reducer' (Pro Wood)
  • Solvent composition, flash point, VOC not published
  • Technocolor pack sizes and shelf life not published
  • Not used in any official Technocolor finishing schedule (information/technology pages)
  • Basis of % not stated on t-color.ru (assumed part A, per Milesi/Pro Wood)
  • LTZ40 retarder and LZC941 alternative not in Technocolor catalogue
  • kemichal.uk dealer page and both prowoodfinishes.com PDFs no longer fetchable (2026-10-05); Pro Wood LBA26 procedure verified from local copy, White/Black primer TDS figures not re-verifiable
  • Evaporation of LZC1051 vs LZC1026: Milesi sheet rates both 'medio'; treating LZC1051 as the slower option rests on UK/US dealer wording ('quick-evaporating' LZC1026 vs 'medium drying' LZC1051)
