LJR601
LJR601 white 2K acrylic primer
Two-pack white Milesi acrylic primer cured with the non-yellowing LNB99 hardener. The official page says it has maximum yellowing resistance, sands well and dries fast; the kraska.mobi aggregator adds good sag resistance on verticals, good hiding and flexibility (that text matches the LKR181 enamel's description word for word, so it's unconfirmed). Use it under white and pale acrylic enamels, where a PU primer on an aromatic hardener would yellow over time. Spray-only, officially at 150 g/m². It thins with the slow LZC8643, and the official dose is high (30 % by weight), so it's thick as supplied.
- priming furniture doors, carcasses and mouldings under white and pale acrylic enamels
- finishes where non-yellowing matters (whites, pastels, rooms with lots of daylight)
- hiding primer on MDF and timber under opaque finishes (seal MDF edges first, see process)

Mixing matrix
- LNB99Hardener% by weight: 20 %official% by volume: 27 %official
Always. 20 % by weight (27 % by volume), fixed — don't go under.
LNB99 is Milesi's non-yellowing acrylic hardener, 32 ± 1 % solids (dealer), sold in 1, 2.5 and 5 L. Moisture-sensitive — lid straight back on. Weigh it on scales: the pigmented primer is much denser than the hardener, so 20 % by weight works out to about 27 % by volume.
- LZC8643Thinner% by weight: 30 %official% by volume: 45 %official
Official thinner and dose. LZC8643 is slow: good for big flat panels, heat (above 25 °C), airless and airmix. On verticals at 18–20 °C you can start at 20–25 % and add more until it sprays well, which cuts down sags.
Thinner doesn't take part in the cure. A slow solvent stretches dust-free time and flash-off, but doesn't change pot life or through-cure. Anything under 30 % is our recommendation (derived); Technocolor only gives 30 %.
- LZC8643Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %recommended
Air spray / HVLP on verticals, 18–22 °C.
Not an official recipe — try it on a test panel.
- LZC1026Thinner% by weight: 20–30 %recommended
Only as a stand-in for LZC8643 when you need a (presumably) faster thinner in a cold shop (below 18–20 °C), after a test panel.
Not on the LJR601 page; the official LJA99 page lists it alongside LZC8643. LZC1026's evaporation speed isn't published.

- Gun distance (cm)
- 15–20recommended
15–20 cm distance, 50–75 % overlap, fan fully open. Edges and profiles first, then faces. Mix by weight. Strain before spraying (125–190 µm).
Conventional spray
- Consumption
- 150 g/m²official
Transfer efficiency is only up to 40 % (official methods page), so you'll use more than the nominal figure.
Airmix (air-assisted airless)
- Consumption
- 150 g/m²official
You can run less thinner (20–25 %) than for air spray; the official 30 % is the ceiling. Start fluid pressure at about 20 bar (official methods page says 'up to 20 bar') and raise it only while the fan still shows tails.
Airless
- Consumption
- 150 g/m²official
For large flat parts. Leaves a rougher surface than airmix, but it gets sanded before the enamel anyway.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- MDF/timber: sand P150–P180 (MDF P180–P220), dust off. Prime routed MDF edges first (isolating primer or a thin first coat of LJR601) and sand P240–P280, or the fibres will raise through the white. Timber at 8–14 % MC. Resinous or tannin-rich species (pine, oak) need a test panel, because stains can bleed through.recommended
- Sanding
- Before the enamel: P280–P320 (P400 under gloss) to an even matt surface, without cutting through to the MDF.recommended
- Don'ts
- don't eyeball it by volume — on this white primer 20 % by weight is 27 % by volume
- don't use less than 20 % LNB99
- don't put the full 30 % of slow thinner on verticals in a cold shop — it'll sag
- don't sand while the paper is clogging — leave it overnight
- don't topcoat without sanding once the recoat window has passed
- don't leave the LNB99 can open — moisture kills the hardener
- don't use the mix past pot life (≈ 3 h)
Storage
- Shelf life
- ≈ 12–18 months unopened (check the can label)recommended
- Storage temperature
- 5–35 °C, dry, out of sunrecommended
Safety: Two-pack solvent-borne: isocyanates in LNB99, flammable solvents. Spray booth with extraction, spark-proof kit, A2P2/A2P3 respirator or air-fed, nitrile gloves, goggles. No smoking.
