PolyurethaneLacquer

LGA21

LGA21 2K polyurethane clear lacquer, satin 40 gloss

Two-pack clear polyurethane topcoat, 40-gloss satin, from the Milesi LGA2x series. High solids, good pore fill, hard film with a very smooth, pleasant feel and good chemical resistance. Catalyse 2:1 by weight with LNB77 (or LNB42), thin 10–30 % with LZC1051. Spray (conventional, airmix, electrostatic) or curtain-coat at 120–140 g/m². Over a sealer only — never straight onto bare wood.

  • topcoat for furniture, cabinet doors, interior doors, frames and mouldings
  • chairs and turned parts
  • flat panels on a curtain coater (where parts are not stacked straight out of a drying tunnel)
  • interior only

  • LNB77Hardener
    % by weight: 50 %official% by volume: 50–51.1 %official

Default choice. Always — weigh it, don't eyeball it.

    LNB77 = hardener for PU sealers and matt lacquers; solids 25 ± 1 % (t-colormarket), 23.5 ± 2 %, density 0.96 (TDS). Packs 0.5/2.5/5/12.5/25 l. Moisture-sensitive — close the can straight away.

  • LNB42Hardener
    % by weight: 50 %official% by volume: 50 %official

Official alternative to LNB77 (same hardener as the LBA42/LBA26 sealers) — handy if you keep one hardener for sealer and topcoat.

LNB42 is ~26.5 % solids (Milesi LBA45 TDS). Not in the LGA2x TDS — no gloss/drying data with it; test on an offcut.

  • LNB7Hardener
    % by weight: 50 %datasheet% by volume: 50.1 %datasheet

When you need faster drying ('excellent drying speed'): dust-free 15 min, touch 45 min.

Gloss drops to 35 ± 2 (US TDS). Pot life 4 h. EU TDS lists it on a par with LNB77. Not found at t-colormarket.ru (search 2026-10-05) — check availability.

  • LNB20Hardener
    % by weight: 50 %datasheet% by volume: 51.1 %datasheet

Pale timbers and over white/pastel work — where non-yellowing matters.

Pot life 3 h, gloss 40 ± 3, dry 15/45 min, full 18 h (US TDS). Stocked at t-colormarket.ru ('for use with the LBA and LGA series', packs 1/2.5/12.5 l).

  • LNB14 / LNB500Hardener
    % by weight: 50 %datasheet

When you want faster drying and a harder film.

Gloss comes out roughly 10 units lower than with LNB77 (≈30 instead of 40).

  • LNB18 / LNB110 / LNB190Hardener
    % by weight: 50 %dealer

    Listed by the dealer as allowed second components ('LNB 42, 77, 18, 110, 190, 7, 500' at 50 %).

No published data on the film with these — test first.

  • LZC1051Thinner
    % by weight: 10–30 (typ. 20) %official% by volume: 10–30 %official

    Standard thinner at 18–22 °C. 10 % for curtain/heavier build, 20 % for spraying, 30 % for small tips/airmix.

LZC1051 = 'PU extra' thinner, medium evaporation, for PU finishes at 18–22 °C, density 0.864.

  • LZC1026Thinner
    % by weight: 10–30 (typ. 20) %datasheet% by volume: 22 %datasheet

Universal PU/NC thinner at 18–22 °C — equal alternative to LZC1051 (TDS and dealer; Technocolor lists it for sister LGA22).

Density 0.850 ± 0.01 (LZC series TDS); the US LGA20 TDS gives 0.875.

  • LZC8643Thinner
    % by weight: 30–50 %datasheet

Above 25 °C — slow thinner, otherwise dry spray and orange peel.

30–50 % is a lot of thinner: watch for runs on verticals and allow longer before sanding.

  • LZC1051 / LTC4Additive
    % by weight: 2–3 %datasheet

    To improve flow-out.

  • LZC50 / LZC13Thinner
    % by weight: 10–30 % w/w on Arecommended

    Electrostatic spraying: LZC50 (medium-slow, resistivity > 800 MΩ·cm) or LZC13 (faster, 8–20 MΩ·cm).

Per the Milesi LZC series TDS these are the thinners for all electrostatic PU products.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Don'ts
  • Don't apply to bare wood — sealer first.
  • Don't exceed the 3 h pot life — don't revive thickened mix with thinner.
  • Don't sand or polish the final satin coat.
  • Don't use LZC1051 for electrostatic.
  • Don't apply or dry below 15 °C.
  • Don't stack curtain-coated parts straight out of a drying tunnel.
