PolyurethaneSealer

LQA836

LQA836 PU isolating sealer (isolator / barrier coat)

Two-pack polyurethane isolator by MILESI. High isolating power, deep penetration into the wood, excellent clarity. Locks in the oils and extractives of exotic species and MDF so they don't upset cure and adhesion of the polyester or PU coats on top. Mixed 1:1 with LNB837 hardener and sprayed as a light veil, no sanding.

  • Isolator for oily exotic woods: rosewood, teak, etimoe, padauk, zebrano etc.
  • Sealing MDF before polyester primers (LRA series, LRR16)
  • First coat (isolator) of the 'Mosaic' special-effect system under LRR16 primer
  • Interior use only

The job is to soak in and seal, not to build. One wet but thin pass; on MDF edges and end grain a second pass straight away is fine.

Don'ts
  • Don't lay it on thick — it's an isolator, not a primer
  • Don't overcoat with polyester past the window without sanding
  • Don't use any hardener other than LNB837
  • Not for exterior work
