ATL20 SG
ATL20 SG two-component acrylic lacquer, 40 gloss (semi-gloss)
Two-component clear acrylic lacquer (cured with an aliphatic isocyanate hardener) — about as water-clear and lightfast as it gets, giving a smooth, pleasant-to-the-touch film. High chemical/physical resistance, non-yellowing, wets the wood well and keeps the pores open and crisp on open-pore finishes. The go-to topcoat for kitchen doors and bathroom furniture, including open-pore and decapé (liming) effects.
- kitchen cabinet doors (solid wood, veneer, MDF)
- bathroom furniture and humid rooms
- open-pore finishing of oak and other ring-porous timbers
- clear topcoat over decapé/limed and patinated finishes
- clear topcoat over enamels and special effects (metallic enamel, Frost, Drops, Blur, shabby-chic)
- interior doors, architraves, wall and slat panels, handrails, T&G cladding — interior only

Answers are based on the ATL20 SG data and the products it mixes with.
Mixing matrix
- AC40Hardener% by weight: 10–20 (typ. [object Object]) %catalog
Standard hardener (aliphatic, non-yellowing). Mix by weight on scales.
Dealer table (t-colormarket) gives a fixed 20 % by weight and volume.
- AC41Hardener% by weight: 10–20 %catalog
Alternative to AC40 — listed on the official ATL20 M page and the 2019 catalog; on the catalog hardener chart AC41 sits slightly faster/harder and slightly less non-yellowing than AC40.
For ATL20 SG AC41 is not on the official/dealer page — only the 2019 catalog lists it (as C41) for the whole ATL20 line. Prefer AC40.

- AC40Hardener% by weight: 20 %schedule
Official schedules: open-pore oak kitchen doors (acrylic) and decapé oak kitchen doors (acrylic)
Schedules write 'C40' — the legacy name of AC40 (the 2019 catalog lists ATL20 hardeners as C40/C41).
- S50Thinner% by weight: 30–40 (typ. [object Object]) %catalog
Universal, medium evaporation — default choice, vertical work, 18–25 °C.
Catalog: S50 is for PU/acrylic primers, matt lacquers and enamels. Doesn't change cure time.
- S80Thinner% by weight: 30–40 %catalog
Slow — above ~25 °C, large flat panels, and deep-matt grades (UM) for an even matt without clouding.
Catalog: S80 is for deep-matt and high-gloss materials. More dust pick-up and sag risk; doesn't change cure time.
- S80Thinner% by weight: 30 %schedule
Open-pore oak schedule: ATL20 100 / C40 20 / S80 30 / CTS 0.5; 150 g/m², dry 1.5 h at 30–35 °C
- S50Thinner% by weight: 40 %schedule
Decapé oak schedule: ATL20 100 / C40 20 / S50 40; 150 g/m², dry 1.5 h at 30–35 °C

Brush
- Consumption
- 150 g/m²dealer
- Dilution for brushing
- ≈30 % S80recommended
Dealer: brushing is also acceptable — small jobs/touch-up only; thin less (≈30 % S80 — bottom of the official range, slow thinner) so it doesn't drag. Won't level like a sprayed coat.
Airless
- Recommendation
- not recommendedrecommended
Not recommended for this topcoat — the methods page positions airless for primers on large flat panels; airmix is better for finishing.

- Temperature and humidity

- Don'ts
- don't use outdoors — interior-only lacquer
- don't use the mix past its 6 h pot life at 20 °C
- don't sand or polish the final matt coat
- don't swap in aromatic PU hardeners (PC…) — they yellow
- don't lay more than ~150 g/m² per pass — sheen goes uneven and it can sag

Safety: Solvent-borne 2K with isocyanate hardener: flammable; spray in a ventilated booth with an A2P2 respirator (or air-fed mask), nitrile gloves and eye protection. Keep away from ignition sources. Don't seal leftover catalysed mix airtight.
