CTS2
CTS2 solvent-borne lacquer tint (dye), orange
Transparent, bright solvent-borne orange dye for tinting lacquers. Added at 0.5–1 % to polyurethane, acrylic and nitrocellulose lacquers to give a more even, livelier colour and to pull together colour variation left by the stain or patina. Stir it in right before use and spray it as part of the lacquer.
- Tinting clear PU, acrylic and NC lacquers (0.5–1 %)
- Evening out colour across a piece after staining and patina — tinted topcoat
- Warming up a lacquer (honey, cherry tones); blended with CTS1/CTS3/CTS4/CTS9 for colour matching
- Toning a lacquer to match a sample for touch-ups or batch matching

Mixing matrix

Dealer's general rule for any PU/acrylic/NC lacquer
Add the dye right before use.
Open-pore oak kitchen fronts (acrylic): topcoat over CGS stain and CQS patina, 150 g/m², dry 30–35 °C 1.5 h
Schedule names generic 'CTS' with no colour; 'C40' there is most likely the AC40 hardener.
Beech-veneered worktops (PU): topcoat over CTH dye and two coats of PTS60 sealer, 150 g/m², dry 30–35 °C 1.5 h
Schedule names generic 'CTS' with no colour.
- % by weight: any ratio among themselves; total CTS ≤ 1 % of lacquerrecommended
Shade matching
Always spray a test panel; mix enough for the whole job in one go.

Application

- Consumption
- 150 g/m² of tinted lacquerschedule
Colour depends on film thickness: keep the fan even, a constant 15–20 cm distance and 50–75 % overlap, no spot top-ups — otherwise you get blotches and dark stripes at overlaps. Do edges and profiles first and don't overload them. If you're only nudging the tone, two light coats beat one heavy one.
Conventional spray
Conventional air gun (official methods page: transfer efficiency up to 40 %).
Airmix (air-assisted airless)
For production work on fronts — gives an even film and consistent colour.
Electrostatic
Workable for chairs/legs (official methods page); check colour evenness on edges — electrostatics build extra film on edges.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Over sealed and sanded (P240–P320) work, per the host lacquer's schedule.recommended
- Sanding
- Don't cut through a tinted coat — you'll get light patches. Between coats just a light denib at P320–P400 per the lacquer's schedule.recommended
- Temperature and humidity
- drying 30–35 °C, 1.5 h (tinted lacquer; same in both schedules)schedule
- Don'ts
- Don't add to waterborne lacquers — this is a solvent-borne dye (use the CTH range for WB)
- Don't exceed 1 % — dealer limit is 0.5–1 %
- Don't pre-tint — add right before use
- Don't top up the cup with a fresh eyeballed batch mid-job — the shade will drift
Storage
- Packaging
- sold per litre; price 1 868 ₽/л (2026-10-05), 'под заказ'dealer
- Storage temperature
- +5…+25 °C, tightly closed, away from heat and sparksrecommended
Safety: Contains organic solvents: flammable. Use in an extracted spray booth with an organic-vapour (A2) respirator and gloves; keep away from ignition sources. (General rules for solvent-borne products — no SDS found.)
