C61
C61 PU hardener (legacy code)
Isocyanate hardener (part B) for Technocolor PU lacquers and enamels that appears only in two finishing schedules on the official site: as hardener for the PTL61 worktop topcoat (50 %) and as the alternative to C20 for PPL20 enamel/intermediate primer on PU foam (50 %). No product page, no data, not on sale — almost certainly a legacy code. Because both partners (worktop lacquer, white PPL20) now take PC60, the closest current equivalent is PC60, the yellowing-resistant aliphatic hardener (inference, not confirmed by Technocolor).
- PTL61 PU worktop topcoat (now PTL60 SM) — 50 %
- PPL20 (RAL, NCS) pigmented PU enamel/intermediate primer on PU foam — 50 %, alternative to C20

Mixing matrix
- PTL61base% by weight: 50 parts per 100 A %schedule
Worktop schedule (page heading is a site copy-paste error: 'Open-pore oak kitchen fronts (acrylic)'), step 13 — topcoat: PTL61 100 : C61 50 : S70 30 : CTS 0.5; 150 g/m²; dry 1.5 h at 30–35 °C. Goes over two coats of PTS60 + C26 50 % + S50 20 %.
PTL61 is not in the current range; its slot is taken by PTL60 SM 'PU worktop lacquer', officially mixed with PC60 at 50 wt% / 50 vol% + S80 30–40 %. Same 50 % ratio.
- PPL20base% by weight: 50 %schedule
Schedule 'Finishing PU-foam parts (PU)', step 4 — intermediate primer/enamel: PPL20 (RAL, NCS) 100 : C20 (C61) 50 : S50 30; 150 g/m²; dry 4 h at 20–25 °C. C61 is given as the alternative to C20.
The 2025–26 catalogue lists only PC60 (40*–50 %) for white PPL20 — consistent with C61 ≈ today's PC60 and C20 ≈ PC20.
- PC60substitute% by weight: 50 %
C61 is not sold by the official dealer and has no maker's page. Where a schedule calls for C61, use PC60 at the same dose.
- S70Thinner% by weight: 30 %schedule
With PTL61 — slow thinner for the topcoat on large flat panels (worktops).
- S50Thinner% by weight: 30 %schedule
With PPL20 — normal-evaporation thinner.
S80 is slower: above ~25 °C and on big panels; more dust and sag risk, no effect on cure time.
- % by weight: 0.5 %schedule
Additive in the PTL61 topcoat on the worktop card.

- Why ru
Hardener is not sprayed alone. Airmix for PPL20: 0.009–0.011" tip (0.23–0.28 mm), 60–90 bar fluid, 1–2 bar atomising air.

- Mixing
- Weigh base 100, add C61 (or PC60) 50, stir, then thinner (% of base), let stand 5–10 min, strain 125–190 µm. Mix only what you'll spray within 4 h.recommended
- Temperature and humidity
- 18–25 °C (worktop card cures at 30–35 °C), RH ≤70 %.recommended
- Don'ts
- don't hunt for C61 — use PC60 at the same dose (or PC20 on PPL20 where yellowing doesn't matter)
- don't leave the can open — isocyanate picks up moisture, clouds and gels
- don't cross into acrylic (AC40/AC41) or polyester (EC1/EA1) systems
Storage
- Storage temperature
- +5…+25 °C, tightly closed, dryrecommended
Safety: Contains isocyanates and solvents: extracted booth, A2P2 respirator (air-fed better), nitrile gloves, goggles. Highly flammable.
