PTL61
PTL61 PU worktop lacquer (legacy code)
Two-pack polyurethane worktop topcoat that appears only in the official schedule 'Finishing beech-veneered worktops (PU)'. No product page, no data, not on sale — almost certainly a legacy code. Its slot in today's range is filled by PTL60 SM 'PU worktop lacquer' (30 gloss): high scratch resistance and chemical resistance to coffee, alcohol and cleaners.
- Topcoat for veneered worktops (beech, per the schedule)
- By analogy with PTL60 SM: bar tops, solid-wood worktops, heavy-wear items

Mixing matrix
- C61Hardener% by weight: 50 %schedule
Official schedule 'Finishing beech-veneered worktops (PU)', step 13 — topcoat. The only documented hardener for PTL61.
C61 itself is not sold anywhere and has no page; the closest current equivalent is PC60 (see below).
- S70Thinner% by weight: 30 %schedule
Per the worktop schedule: slow thinner — lets the lacquer flow out on a large flat panel.
S70 is the slow PU/acrylic thinner: better flow, less orange peel and dry spray; doesn't change cure time.
- % by weight: 0.5 %schedule
Per the worktop schedule, 0.5 % into the topcoat. The same CTS dose appears in the acrylic oak-fronts schedule (ATL20 + C40 + S80 + CTS 0.5 %).
Technocolor never says what CTS is (no page, not at the dealer). At 0.5 % it's most likely a surface/flow-slip additive; the lacquer works without it — only add if you actually have it.
- PC60Hardener% by weight: 50 %% by volume: 50 %
Where the schedule calls for C61 and you can't get it (you can't) — use PC60 at the same 50 %.
- S80Thinner% by weight: 30–40 %% by volume: 35–45 %
Instead of S70 if you follow today's PTL60 SM recipe (officially S80 30–40 %). Slow — for big flat panels and heat above ~25 °C.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 30–40 %% by volume: 35–45 %
Instead of S70/S80 — at 18–22 °C, on edges and verticals where a slow thinner sags. The dealer lists S50 alongside S80 for PTL60 SM.
- S100Additive% by weight: 5–10 %
Optional, for better flow-out on a big flat panel (dealer recommendation for PTL60 SM).
S100 is a very-slow retarder (catalogue); more dust pick-up and sag risk.

Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Sand faces P150→P180→P220, edges with K60–K80 sponges. Stain: CTH 100 : CFH1 400 : water 1000, 80–100 g/m², dry 20 min at 20–25 °C. Prime PTS60 100 : C26 50 : S50 20, 150 g/m², dry 1.5 h at 30–35 °C, sand P240→P280→P320 (edges K120); prime again and sand again.schedule

- Sanding
- primer P240–P280–P320, edges K120 before the topcoat; final coat not sandedschedule
- Temperature and humidity
- forced drying 30–35 °C, 1.5 hschedule
- Don'ts
- Don't change the 50 % hardener dose — hardness and chemical resistance suffer.
- Don't use the mix past ~4 h at 20 °C.
- Don't lay heavy wet-on-wet coats — sags and solvent pops (slow S70).
- Don't put it in the heat straight away — give it 15–20 min flash-off.
- Keep hot pans and chemicals off the worktop for the first 5–7 days.
- Don't polish the final coat — the sheen goes patchy.

Safety: Not published. Solvent-borne 2K PU with an isocyanate hardener: flammable; spray only in a ventilated booth, with an A2P2 (or better) respirator, gloves and eye protection.
