CPH21 water-based pigmented wood stain, classic walnut

Water-reducible pigmented wood stain in 'classic walnut'. Being pigment-based, it evens out colour variation and masks defects in the timber, levels well, has high hiding power and good lightfastness. According to the dealer, CFH1 binder (15–20 %) is already in the can, for more even application and less grain raising. Slow to dry and sensitive to low temperatures. Supplied as a concentrate, reduced with water before use.

  • Staining furniture made from any timber
  • Evening out colour variation and masking defects (pigment toning)
  • Mixing/matching shades with other CPH stains
  • Tinting exterior coatings

Mixing matrix

    % by weight: 400–600 %official% by volume: 400–600 %official

Standard reduction for spraying (official product page).

More water = lighter, more see-through tone. Reduce with clean water only.

  • Вода / waterThinner
    % by weight: 400–1000 %catalog

Wider range from the 2025–2026 catalogue — for lighter, more transparent tones.

Catalogue gives a bare '%', weight vs volume not stated; for water the difference is negligible.

  • CFH1Additive
    % by weight: 0–200 %official% by volume: 0–200 %official

Binder: improves pigment lock-down, evenness and reduces grain raising; use more when wiping the stain or going under water-based lacquers.

Per the dealer, 15–20 % CFH1 is already in the product (CPH21/1), so extra binder is optional (0 %).

  • CFH1Additive
    % by weight: 0–400 %catalog

Upper limit per the 2022 catalogue.

2022 catalogue lists only CFH1 for CPH (CTH gets CFH1/CFH2).

Spray on, then wipe along the grain with a rag or sponge — evens the tone and highlights pores. Extra CFH1 helps when wiping.

Roller-coater application on flat panels/flooring lines.

Brush

Why ru
Водные красители обычно наносят кистью при подкраске; Technocolor указывает только распыление, распыление с протиркой и валик.

Not listed by the maker; for small repairs a brush or sponge followed by wiping off works.

Don'ts
  • Don't work in a cold shop — it is temperature-sensitive and slow-drying
  • Don't overcoat sooner than 4 h at 20 °C
  • Don't mix with solvent stains (CPS, CTU, CLT)
  • Don't let it pool or run — pigment blotches
  • Don't sand the stain coat
