CPH1

CPH1 Water-based pigment stain concentrate, yellow

Concentrated water-borne pigment stain. Diluted with water it makes a stain for any wood species; it can also be used to tint exterior impregnations. Pigment-based: evens out colour variation, hides wood defects, levels well and is lightfast.

  • Staining furniture in any wood species
  • Mixing custom stain shades with other CPH colours
  • Tinting coloured impregnations and exterior coatings

Mixing matrix

  • WATERThinner
    % by weight: 400–600 % of concentrateofficial% by volume: 400–600 % of concentrateofficial

    Standard working stain for spraying.

More water = lighter, more transparent tone; less = denser, more hiding. Dealer gives the same formula: CPH1 100 % + water 400–600 %.

  • WATERThinner
    % by weight: 400–1000 % of concentratecatalog

The catalogue allows heavier dilution, up to 1000 %, for very pale tones.

Catalogue gives just '%' without weight/volume; for water and a water-based concentrate the difference is negligible.

  • CFH1Additive
    % by weight: 0–200 % of concentrateofficial% by volume: 0–200 % of concentrateofficial

Water-based spray binder (official 0–200 % of concentrate). Purpose per the dealer: more even lay-down and less grain raising.

0 % is allowed (no binder).

  • CFH1Additive
    % by weight: 10–20 % of ready-to-use staindealer

For better levelling and less raised grain.

    Dealer states both 15–20 % and 10–20 % of the ready stain. Converted: at 500 % water, 10–20 % of ready stain ≈ 60–120 % of concentrate — within the official 0–200 %.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Spray viscosity

Sanding between coats
Do not sand the stain itself; denib only after the first primer coatrecommended

(Derived guidance.) 1.2 mm tip, 1.5–2 bar inlet, 15–20 cm distance, 50 % overlap. Lay one even wet coat without puddles; go lighter on verticals to avoid runs. Stir the stain now and then — pigment settles.

Cloth or pad

Consumption
80–100 g/m2catalog

Spray, then wipe along the grain with a pad/cloth until the tone is even — take off the excess or the pigment will blotch.

Roller

Consumption

Roller-coater application on flat panels (catalogue: 'roller application'; not a UV material).

Process and compatibility

Substrate preparation
Sand P150–P220 (edges/solid K80–K120), de-dust. On solid wood and veneer pre-wet with water, dry and knock back the raised grain with P220 before staining.recommended
Sanding
Don't sand the stain. After the first primer coat sand P240–P320 lightly, without cutting through on edges.recommended
Temperature and humidity
15–25 °C, RH 50–70 %; don't work below 10 °C.recommended
Don'ts
  • Don't prime before 4 h
  • Don't over-apply — blotches and runs
  • Don't let it freeze
  • Don't sand the stain layer

Safety: Water-borne, solvent-free. Wear gloves; respirator and extraction when spraying; it stains skin.
