CPH623
CPH623 Water-based wood lasure (exterior stain-finish), old walnut
Waterborne wax-modified lasure in old walnut for timber structures. Pigmented, goes on evenly without blotching, flows out well and is lightfast: it protects the wood from UV and does not fade. The wax makes it a self-finishing coat, so no lacquer goes on top. It contains no biocides, so it can also be used indoors; for exterior work the wood needs a protective impregnation first.
- gazebos, fences and other exterior timber structures
- garden furniture and wooden items for outdoor or indoor use
- decorative and protective finishing coat with no lacquer over it

Mixing matrix
- none
One-component, supplied ready to use; no hardener. Stir thoroughly before and during use, because the pigment settles.
- waterThinner% by weight: 0–5 %recommended
only if the brush drags in hot weather; by default, do not thin
Thinning weakens the colour and lowers UV protection.
CPH623 is a ready-mixed colour. Custom shades are made from clear CPH600 plus CPH 1/3/9/10 concentrates at 1–10 %; tinting CPH623 itself is not documented. (The dealer's CPH600 page has a typo, 'CFH6', meaning CPH600.)

Outside the maker's spec. If you spray, use a stainless fluid set, 15–20 cm from the surface and 50 % overlap. On porous timber, back-brush or wipe straight away so it doesn't go blotchy. Don't spray on finished outdoor structures, where the wind carries the mist.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Dry (MC ≤15–18 %), clean, dust-free timber with no old film coatings. Outdoors, first treat with the protective impregnation CTH100 (per the dealer and the 2022 catalogue) or CPH6 (per the 2025 catalogue) and let it dry.dealer

- Sanding
- Bare wood: P120–P150 on planed timber, P80–P100 on rough-sawn or structural lumber. Sanding between coats is optional.recommended
- Temperature and humidity
- Apply at +10…+30 °C and RH ≤80 %, out of direct sun, and not before rain (allow at least 4 h dry weather).recommended
- Don'ts
- don't put lacquer over it — the wax will kill adhesion
- don't count on it as a preservative — it has no biocides, so impregnate first outdoors
- don't over-thin — colour and UV protection drop off
- don't apply over old film-forming lacquers or paints
- don't let it freeze
