PTS21812
PTS21812 PU adhesion primer for MDF
Two-pack polyurethane adhesion primer for MDF. Bonds well to all kinds of MDF, dries fast, is high in solids (≈ 75 %) and sands easily. It goes on as the first coat over bare MDF, before the main (build) primer.
- first (adhesion) coat over MDF before the main PU primer
- MDF doors, panels and routed parts going under enamel
- edges and routed profiles on low-density MDF (with PC72 hardener)
- base for the 'Droplets' special effect (PTS21812 → white PU primer → RAL enamel → water droplets → RAL enamel + S10 → ATL20 SM lacquer)

Mixing matrix
- PC20Hardener% by weight: 40 %dealer% by volume: 60 %dealer
standard option (dealer, 2025 catalog)
Fast aromatic hardener — sandable in 2–3 h, 3 h pot life. The official site gives 30 % for PC20 (next entry) — the sources disagree.
- PC20Hardener% by weight: 30 %official% by volume: 45 %official
per the official t-color.ru product page
Conflict: dealer and 2025 catalog say 40 % w / 60 % vol. If in doubt ask the Technocolor technologist; 40 % is the newer printed source (2025–2026 catalog).
- PC72Hardener% by weight: 30 %official% by volume: 45 %official
poor-quality MDF, heavy build in routed profiles and on edges
Dries slower but gives a more flexible film that cracks less where it builds up (dealer). PC72 yellows the most — always cover it with the main primer under white enamels.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 10–20 (typ. 15) %dealer% by volume: 15–35 %dealer
always; 10 % for build on flat panels, 20 % for smaller tips and routed profiles
15 % default is the mid-point. Universal, normal-evaporation thinner.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 10–25 %official% by volume: 15–35 %official
per the official page (upper limit 25 %)
The official site allows up to 25 %, the dealer and catalog up to 20 %.
- S80Thinner% by weight: 10–20 %recommended
above ~25 °C, large panels
Doesn't change cure time; more dust pick-up and sag risk. Not official — test on a sample first.

- Не опубликовано; данные приведены для 20 °C. Обычное рабочее окно для PU 18–25 °C, влажность 50–70 %; изоцианатные отвердители реагируют с влагой, поэтому при высокой влажности появляются пузыри и помутнение.
- Don'ts
- don't use it in place of the main primer — it's an adhesion tie-coat; the main primer gives the build
- don't mix up hardener ratios: PC20 and PC72 go in at different amounts (dealer: 40 % and 30 %)
- don't exceed 20–25 % S50 — solids drop and routed profiles won't fill
- don't use the mix past its 3 h pot life (PC20, 20 °C)
- not for exterior use
- with PC72, never leave it directly under white enamel without the main primer — PC72 yellows

Safety: Solvent-borne two-pack PU with an isocyanate hardener: spray in a booth with extraction, wear an A2P3 respirator (air-fed preferred), nitrile gloves and eye protection. Flammable — no naked flames. (General PU practice — no SDS found.)
