Mixing matrix
- PC60Hardener% by weight: 50 %dealer% by volume: 60 %dealer
always — standard hardener, fixed ratio for the M version
Catalog gives PC60 30*–50 % for the whole PPL RAL line; the asterisked 30 % is for the DM (dead-flat) versions, M takes 50 %. Weigh it — short on hardener gives a soft film, over gives brittleness and yellowing.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %dealer% by volume: 30–35 %dealer
universal, normal evaporation — the default at 18–25 °C and on verticals
Catalog: S50 20–30 %. Doesn't change cure time.
- S70Thinner% by weight: 20–30 %dealer% by volume: 30–35 %dealer
slow — above ~25 °C, large panels, when you need more flow-out
Longer open time: more dust pick-up and sag risk on verticals. Can be blended with S50 in any proportion as long as the total stays within 20–30 % (our recommendation).

Conventional spray

- Nozzle
- 1.6–1.8 mmrecommended
- Pressure · air
- 3–4 barrecommended
Air spray is the method the dealer states ('air spray, 150 g/m² per coat'). Low transfer efficiency — lots of overspray, good extraction is a must.

For production runs of fronts; near air-spray quality with far less overspray.
Airless
- Nozzle
- 11–13 thou (0.28–0.33 mm)recommended
- Pressure · fluid
- 120–160 barrecommended
Not the preferred method for a finish enamel — use airmix instead.

Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- MDF/wood primed with a white PU primer (PPS20 in 2 coats, or PPS50277), primer sanded P320–P400 and dedusted, degreased if handledrecommended
- Sanding
- primer P320–P400; between enamel coats P400–P500 / grey pad denib; never sand or polish the final coatrecommended
- Temperature and humidity
- 18–25 °C material, room and substrate (not below 15 °C), RH 50–70 %recommended
- Don'ts
- don't use the mix past 4 h at 20 °C
- don't thin past 30 % — hide and build drop off
- don't lay heavy coats wet-on-wet — solvent pop
- don't sand or polish the final coat
- don't swap PC60 for another hardener without asking Technocolor (the dealer gives only PC60 for R9003 M; PC20 appears as an alternative on e.g. the R9005 M page)
Storage
- Shelf life
- 8 months if stored correctlydealer
- Storage temperature
- +5…+25 °C, original sealed tins, away from heat and sunrecommended
- Packaging

Safety: Use respiratory, hand and eye protection and overalls in production. Keep away from children. Dispose of waste at an approved site per regulations; never release to the environment. The PC60 hardener contains isocyanates — wear an A2/P2 organic-vapour respirator or supplied air.
