VTL30040
UV-curing spray lacquer for furniture, 40 gloss
Single-pack UV-curing spray lacquer, satin (40 gloss). It contains solvent (44–46 % solids), so it needs a flash-off before the UV lamps. Flows out very well, high clarity, physical and chemical resistance (official page); the catalog adds excellent physical-chemical properties, scratch- and scuff-resistant, levels well in thin films. A good choice for doors, cabinet fronts and bathroom furniture; Technocolor's official schedule also uses it on mouldings and picture-frame stock.

Mixing matrix
- S30Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. [object Object]) %catalog
Catalog default thinner; short flash-off zone, small parts, profiles.
Fast — on big flat panels watch for dry overspray and orange peel; all solvent must be out before the lamps.
- S11Thinner% by weight: 20 %schedule
Official 'Mouldings and picture-frame stock (UV)' schedule: 150 g/m², flash 5–10 min at 30–35 °C, then UV.
Slower than S30 — better flow-out, but the flash-off must be respected.
- S31Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %recommended
Warm shop or large flat fronts where S30 leaves dry overspray.
Not an official pairing for VTL30040 — run a test panel first.

Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Brush-sand K60/K80; stain CTU 100 % + CFS1 150 % + S12 500 % (80 g/m², 5 min at 25–30 °C); primer VTS40041 100 g/m², UV at 30 m/min; brush-sand K120/K150; lacquer VTL30040.schedule

- Temperature and humidity
- flash-off zone 30–35 °C (schedule); shop and material 18–25 °C, RH ≤ 70 %recommended
- Don'ts
- Do not send to the lamps before the solvent has flashed — bubbles/craters and a soft film
- Keep lacquer and cup out of daylight/UV
- Do not add hardeners — it's a 1K UV material
- Not for roller coaters — spray grade
- Avoid shadowed areas on profiles during UV cure
Storage
- Storage temperature
- 5–25 °C, closed opaque container, away from lightrecommended
Safety: Contains solvent — spray booth with extraction, A2 organic-vapour respirator. Uncured acrylates are skin sensitisers: nitrile gloves, goggles; wash off skin with soap and water. Shield eyes and skin from lamp radiation.
