VTL30020

UV-curing spray lacquer for furniture, 20 gloss (clear)

Clear matt (20 gloss) UV-curing lacquer for spraying furniture. Excellent flow-out, high clarity, good chemical/physical resistance, scratch- and rub-resistant, levels well in thin films. It is solvent-borne (part A solids 44–46 %), so the film must be flashed/pre-dried to drive off the thinner before UV curing.

Mixing matrix

  • S30Thinner
% by weight: 20–30 (typ. [object Object]) %catalog

Standard dilution to spray viscosity. S30 is a fast thinner.

Thinner does not take part in UV cure but must flash off fully before the lamps.

  • S31Thinner
    % by weight: 20–30 %recommended

Hot shop (above ~25 °C) or large flat panels where S30 gives dry spray and poor flow.

Slower evaporation — lengthen the pre-dry before the lamps.

  • S11Thinner
    % by weight: 20 %schedule

Official 'mouldings and baguette (UV)' schedule, written for VTL30040 at 150 g/m²; not stated for VTL30020 itself.

Conflict: the thinner table lists S11 for polyester gloss lacquers. For VTL30020 prefer S30 per the catalog.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Don'ts
  • Do not send to the UV lamps without a pre-dry — trapped solvent causes bubbles, haze and poor adhesion
  • Do not add hardeners — single-pack material
  • Keep out of daylight/UV light in open containers
  • Do not recoat a cured film without sanding

Storage

5–25 °C, dark, closedrecommended

Safety: Contains solvents — flammable; spray only in an extracted booth with an A-type organic-vapour respirator. Uncured acrylates are skin sensitisers: nitrile gloves and goggles. Shield eyes/skin from UV lamp radiation.
