VPS60011

VPS60011 white UV-curing primer

White pigmented UV-curing primer for spray application. Per Technocolor it sands easily and has good adhesion. Used as the base coat under white/coloured UV or PU topcoats on lines equipped with UV curing.

  • Priming MDF fronts and panels under white/coloured enamel on UV-cure lines
  • Priming profiled parts where roller coating is not possible (spray application)

Single-component product: no mixing needed — use as supplied (see application below).

  • Hardener

No hardener - cures under UV light. The official page lists none.

  • S30 / S31 / S13Thinner

Only to trim to spray viscosity; S31 as the default, S30/S13 when you need the solvent gone faster before the lamp.

No published ratio for VPS60011 - confirm with Technocolor. In the official UV moulding schedule the sprayed UV lacquer VTL30040 is thinned 20 % with S11 - an analogy, not VPS60011 data. If the primer is 100 % solids (solvent-free) thinning may not be allowed at all.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Drying · Cure
UV cure: guide 80-120 W, 3 lamps, 10 m/min (as in Technocolor schedules, which state plain 'W', not W/cm); for a white pigmented coat use a gallium-doped lamp plus mercuryrecommended

Application

Conventional spray

Spraying is the only officially listed method.

HVLP

Gun distance 15-20 cm, 50 % overlap. Always flash off before the lamp.

Airmix (air-assisted airless)

Pressure · air
1–2 barofficial

Preferred on a line - high transfer efficiency, even film.

Process and compatibility

Substrate preparation
sand MDF/wood P150-P220, de-dustrecommended
Sanding
after UV cure P240-P320recommended
Temperature and humidity
material and part 18-25 °C; flash-off 30-35 °Crecommended
Don'ts
  • Do not send an un-flashed coat into the UV lamp - blisters and poor intercoat adhesion
  • Do not leave the can open in daylight
  • Do not lay more than ~150 g/m² per pass - a pigmented coat will not through-cure

Storage

Safety: Contains acrylate monomers (typical of UV materials) - skin sensitiser: nitrile gloves, eye protection, respirator when spraying. Shield eyes/skin from UV lamp radiation.
