PTL10 G
PTL10 G Clear PU lacquer (70 gloss)
General-purpose two-pack polyurethane clear lacquer, 70 gloss. Flows into the pores without sinking into the substrate and dries fast. As a topcoat it gives a pleasant-feeling surface with excellent flow-out. High clarity.
- Finishing furniture in all kinds of wood
- Semi-gloss/high-satin topcoat over PU primer
- Self-sealing lacquer on close-grained woods and veneer

Mixing matrix
- PC20Hardener% by weight: 40 %official% by volume: 40 %official
The standard and only listed hardener for PTL10 G — always.
PC20 is an aromatic hardener (catalogue: for PU primers and matt lacquers, ≈27 % solids). Don't change the dose: too little gives a soft film with poor chemical resistance, too much makes it brittle and yellow.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %official% by volume: 25–35 %official
Standard thinner: normal evaporation, 18–25 °C, verticals and everyday parts. 20 % for more build, 30 % for better flow and a thinner coat.
The weight/volume difference (20–30 % by weight = 25–35 % by volume) is because the solvent is lighter than the lacquer. If you measure with a ruler/mixing cup by volume, use the volume figures. S50 doesn't change cure time.
- S80Thinner% by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %% by volume: 25–35 %
Heat above ~25 °C, large flat panels, or when the 70-gloss film needs maximum flow-out without orange peel or dry spray.
Slow: more dust pick-up and higher sag risk on verticals. A 50:50 S50/S80 blend is a good middle ground.

- Родственный PTL10 SM: на отлип 25 мин, полное высыхание 4 ч (дилер). Шлифовка и перекрытие через ~2–4 ч; после ~24 ч обязательно матировать для адгезии (обычная практика для 2К ПУ).

Thin even passes, fan fully open, edges first and light. A 70-gloss shows everything — orange peel, dust, dry spray — so spray in a clean booth; if you get dry spray switch to S80 or thin closer to 30 %.

Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Wood moisture 8–10 % (official glossary allows 8–14 % max). Sand P150→P180→P220 (profiles: K60/K80 pads), de-dust. Optionally stain and dry. Then either a PU primer (PTS20/PTS50) sanded P240→P280→P320, or a first coat of PTL10 G as its own sealer sanded P320.recommended
- Sanding
- Sealer coat P320 (official PU schedule sands primer P240–P320); between topcoats P320–P400 denib; final coat untouchedrecommended
- Temperature and humidity
- 18–25 °C air and material, RH 50–70 % (official glossary hard limits 40–75 %), wood 8–10 % (glossary max 8–14 %); above ~25 °C switch to S80recommended
- Don'ts
- Don't change the PC20 dose (40 %).
- Don't use the mix past ~4 h at 20 °C.
- Don't lay more than 150 g/m² per coat — sags and solvent pops.
- Don't spray over fresh nitro or oil.
- Don't sand or polish the final 70-gloss coat.
- Don't use over white enamels or bleached oak — it will yellow (aromatic hardener).
- Stir component A thoroughly before mixing (dealer note).

Safety: Not published. Solvent-borne 2K PU with an isocyanate hardener: flammable; spray only in a ventilated booth with an A2P2 (or better) respirator, gloves and eye protection. Keep out of drains.
