PPL50 SG

PPL50 SG White thixotropic PU enamel (40 gloss)

Two-pack white polyurethane enamel, 40 gloss, thixotropic. Excellent hiding, hangs on verticals without runs or sags, good physical and chemical resistance. A topcoat for vertical spraying; suits carvings and complex profiles.

  • White topcoat for vertical spraying (fronts, doors, panels)
  • Carvings and complex-shaped parts
  • Furniture and interior joinery in MDF or solid wood (over white primer)

the only hardener for PPL50 in every source

    Weigh it: 100 : 50. By volume 100 : 60. PC60 is ≈29 % solids (catalog; dealer 29 ± 1 %).

  • S50Thinner

    default: universal, normal-evaporation thinner — verticals at 18–25 °C

S50: medium evaporation, good solvency (catalog); official page: 'drying — medium'. Doesn't change cure time (workshop notes).

  • S70Thinner

slow: in heat (above ~25 °C), on big panels, when you need more flow-out

S70: slow evaporation, medium solvency (catalog). Longer dust window and more sag risk on verticals — don't flood it.

Process and compatibility

Temperature and humidity
18–25 °C, RH 50–70 %. Above ~25 °C use S70 instead of S50.recommended
Don'ts
  • No hardener other than PC60
  • Don't eyeball the hardener — weigh it (100 : 50)
  • Don't spray the mix past 4 h
  • Don't exceed 150 g/m² per pass
  • Don't polish the final 40-gloss coat
  • Not for exterior work
