CFH2
CFH2 Water-based dipping binder (for CTH dye baths)
Water-reducible binder used to make up dip baths with CTH dye concentrates. Technocolor says it gives high colour uniformity and makes the dye go on more evenly when dipping. It has no colour of its own and is reduced with water. Another Technocolor schedule (CTH dye under a lacquer system) uses the sister binder CFH1 instead, at CTH 100 : CFH1 400 : water 1000; that schedule does not state the application method.
- Dip bath for staining chairs, spindle/lattice furniture, balusters etc. with CTH dyes
- Evening out the colour on beech ahead of PTS50 PU primer

Making up a dip bath
Dealer wording «800-1200 / 800-1200» is ambiguous; both the schedule (800 : 1200) and the dealer recipe (40 : 60) work out to 150 parts water per 100 parts CFH2. No by-volume figures are published.
- CTH / WATERAdditive
Dealer's rough dip-bath recipe
1 % CTH for a pale tint, 10 % for a deep one. Mix CFH2 with the water first, then stir the dye in.
- CTH / WATERAdditive
Beech chairs (PU system): dip, 80–100 g/m², dry 30 min at 20–25 °C
Agrees with the dealer recipe (CFH2 ~40 %, water ~60 %, CTH ~5 %).
- CFH2 / WATER / CTHAdditive
Schedule ratio re-based to 100 parts CFH2
Example: 4 kg CFH2 + 6 kg water + 0.5 kg CTH.

- Dwell
- a few seconds; withdraw slowly and let drainrecommended
Dip briefly, lift out, let the excess drain back over the tank, then dry. Stir the bath before work and every so often — binder and dye can settle. Wipe drips off the bottom edges with a brush or sponge. Keep the tank covered, top up with water as it evaporates, and check the shade against a test piece.
Flow coating
- Consumption
- 80–100 g/m²recommended
The same bath can run in a flow-coater (filter the recirculation).
HVLP
- Spray viscosity
- as made up (≈ 11–13 s DIN4)recommended
Not the intended route — this product is made for dipping. If you do spray a CFH2 bath, lay a thin wet coat with no puddling and pick off runs straight away.

- Sanding
- The schedule has no sanding between the dye step and the first PTS50 primer coat; the first sanding is on the PTS50 primer with P120 abrasive pads.schedule
- Temperature and humidity

- Don'ts
- Don't use it neat — it's a binder, not a ready stain
- Don't let it freeze (water-based)
- Don't prime before it is fully dry (≥30 min at 20–25 °C, longer in damp air)
- Don't mix it up with CFH1 — a different binder, dosed differently in the schedules (CTH 100 : CFH1 400 : water 1000)
