PTL100
PTL100 clear gloss PU converter (tinting base), 100 gloss
Clear high-gloss (100 gloss) polyurethane converter for the SPECTRUM tinting system. Tinted with CS pastes by recipe into saturated and dark gloss RAL/NCS colours (light/pastel colours go on the white PPL100 base). 2K: cured with AC200 (or PC210) at 70–100 %, thinned with the slow S70/S80. Builds a deep, polishable gloss — same gloss PU chemistry (AC200 hardener, S70/S80) as the PTL200 clear lacquer.
- Base for tinting gloss PU enamels into saturated and dark colours (CS pastes)
- High-gloss MDF fronts, cabinet furniture, pieces to be polished
- Untinted it is effectively a clear gloss PU lacquer (by nature; officially sold as a converter)

Mixing matrix
- AC200Hardener% by weight: 70–100 %official% by volume: 70–100 %official
Main hardener. 70 % = longer pot life, a bit more flexible; 100 % = maximum hardness and resistance.
Catalog: AC200 70–100 %. Gloss-material hardener, ≈44 % solids (catalog chart). Dealer: AC200 gives better physical/chemical resistance than PC210.
- PC210Hardener% by weight: 70–100 %official% by volume: 70–100 %official
When faster drying is needed (cold shop, short cycle).
Official page: «PC210/AC200». The catalog lists only AC200 for PTL100. PC210 yellows slightly more and, by analogy with PTL200, trades resistance for speed; shorter pot life (≈3–4 h, estimate).
- % by weight: 20–40 (typ. 30) %official% by volume: 20–40 %official
Always, to spray viscosity. S70 = default at 18–25 °C; S80 = above ~25 °C, large flat panels, maximum gloss flow-out.
Both slow, made for high-gloss PU (catalog p.19). Don't use fast S30/S50 — orange peel and lost gloss. Thinner doesn't change cure time.
- % by weight: 30–40 %catalog
2025–2026 catalog: 30–40 % (website: 20–40 %).

Calculate hardener and thinner on the weight of the tinted base (converter + pastes) — our assumption, not stated officially. Light/pastel colours go on the white PPL100.

Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Goes over a sanded pigmented primer (PU or PE). Sand primer P240–P320, then K150–K180 pads; de-dust.recommended
- Sanding
- Between coats P400–P600; polish no sooner than 72 h (3M Finesse-it or similar).recommended
- Don'ts
- Don't thin with fast S30/S50 — orange peel, lost gloss
- Don't exceed 150 g/m² per coat — sags and trapped solvent
- Don't polish before 72 h
- Don't use the mix past pot life (~6 h with AC200)
- Don't build light/pastel colours on the clear base — use PPL100
Storage
Safety: Contains organic solvents; AC200/PC210 hardeners contain isocyanates. Spray in an extracted booth with an organic-vapour respirator (A2P2 or better), nitrile gloves and eye protection. Keep away from ignition sources.
