PC90 Hardener for PU floor (parquet) lacquer

Aromatic isocyanate hardener (component B) for PTL90 polyurethane floor lacquer. Solids 42 ± 1 % (among the highest of the Technocolor hardeners). Added to the lacquer at 2:1 (50 % on the lacquer, by weight and by volume). Being aromatic, it yellows over time — not for white enamels or pale/whitewashed timber.

  • Component B for PTL90 UM (10 gloss) and PTL90 SM (30 gloss) PU floor lacquer
  • Finishing parquet, stairs, treads and other high-wear surfaces as part of the PTL90 system

Mixing matrix

  • % by weight: 50 %official% by volume: 50 %official

Always; fixed ratio, do not vary.

PC90 is the only hardener listed for PTL90; no other use is documented. Example (by weight, % of the lacquer): 1000 g lacquer + 500 g PC90 + 200–300 g thinner (S70/S80; S50 also allowed for UM).

  • S70 / S80Thinner
    % by weight: 20–30 %official% by volume: 25–35 %official

Added to the lacquer+PC90 mix to reach spray viscosity.

Do not thin the hardener on its own — add thinner to the already catalysed lacquer.

  • S50Thinner
    % by weight: 20–30 %official% by volume: 25–35 %official

Official page and dealer list S50 (universal, normal evaporation) as an option for PTL90 UM only; SM lists S70/S80 only.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Application

Mixing component

Why ru
Соотношение и жизнеспособность — по данным дилера/производителя; порядок смешивания, выдержка и процеживание — стандартная практика мастерской для 2К ПУ.

PC90 is never applied on its own. Sequence: stir PTL90, add PC90 at 2:1, mix thoroughly, then add S70/S80 (S50 also allowed for UM), let it stand 5–10 min, strain (125–190 µm). Use the mix within 4 h at 20 °C.

Temperature and humidity

Don'ts
  • Don't use over white enamels or on pale/whitewashed timber — it yellows (per dealer)
  • Don't change the 2:1 ratio — too little gives a soft film, too much a brittle one
  • Don't leave the can open — air moisture ruins the hardener
  • Never pour leftover mix back into the hardener or lacquer can
