LGA534
LGA534 Thixotropic 2K PU lacquer, 20 gloss (matt)
Clear two-component polyurethane lacquer, matt (20 gloss) and thixotropic, made by Milesi (Italy). It dries fast and leaves a pleasant, smooth feel. Thanks to the thixotropy it holds on verticals without sagging, which suits chairs, turned parts and frames, including on electrostatic lines. Mix it 2:1 with LNB42, LNB77 or LNB5 hardener (50 % of the lacquer by weight and by volume). Thin it 10–30 % with S50, S70 or S80. Apply 80–100 g/m² per coat. Per Milesi's series TDS: solids 44 ± 2 %, viscosity 32 ± 3 s (Ford ISO 6), pot life 3 h, dust-free 15 min, touch dry 45 min, hard dry 4 h. It belongs to the LGA531–LGA536 range (65/45/30/20/10/3 gloss); LGA532 calls for a heavier 110–130 g/m².
- matt topcoat on solid-wood and veneered furniture
- chairs, legs, frames and turned parts (vertical surfaces)
- electrostatic spray lines
- topcoat over PU sealers

Mixing matrix
- % by weight: 50 %official% by volume: 50 %official
Any one of the three hardeners, fixed at 50 %. Don't cut the dose to stretch pot life.
Milesi dealer (sinay): LNB5/05 for electrostatic bells/discs or where more wetting is needed; LNB42 and LNB77 for ordinary spray. Milesi TDS: LNB42 gives better filling (the TDS base hardener is LNB500, which Technocolor doesn't list). The dealer describes LNB77 as 'hardener for PU primers and matt lacquers', solids 25±1 %. Don't mix different hardeners in one batch.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 10–30 %official% by volume: 10–30 %official
Default: medium evaporation, 18–25 °C, verticals, chairs.
Dealer: medium evaporation, good solvency; for PU and acrylic primers, matt lacquers and enamels. Workshop notes: universal default, for verticals.
- S70Thinner% by weight: 10–30 %official% by volume: 10–30 %official
Slow: hot shop, large flat panels. The dealer pitches S70 at dead-matt and high-gloss materials, not 20 gloss; the weather-based choice is inferred.
Dealer: slow evaporation, medium solvency; for dead-matt and high-gloss PU/acrylic materials.
- S80Thinner% by weight: 10–30 %official% by volume: 10–30 %official
Slow: above ~25 °C, big flat panels. More dust pickup and more sag risk.
Dealer: slow evaporation, good solvency. Workshop notes: it doesn't change cure time.

Application
Conventional spray
- Consumption
- 80–100 g/m²official
Hold 15–20 cm, overlap 50 %. Thixotropic lacquer flows out less, so on flat panels lay a full wet coat and don't dry-spray, or you'll get orange peel and starved pores.
HVLP
- Consumption
- 80–100 g/m²official
Fan fully open, needle about 2 turns, 15–20 cm.
Airmix (air-assisted airless)

- Pressure · air
- 1–2 barofficial
The official product page names only 'spray' and 'electrostatic spray'; airmix is a kind of spray. Official methods page: airmix suits topcoats better than airless.

The part must be earthed, and wood moisture should be at least about 8–10 % (or use a conductive primer), or the wrap will be poor. Officially recommended for chairs, table legs and cots. For bells/discs Milesi recommends LNB5 hardener.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Over a PU sealer sanded P280–P320 (or P320–P400 under a matt finish). Dust off. Wood moisture 8–12 %.recommended
- Don'ts
- don't reduce the hardener (fixed 50 %)
- don't lay more than about 100 g/m² per coat: sheen goes uneven, clarity drops and solvent pop gets worse
- don't sand or polish the final matt coat
- don't use mix past its pot life, and don't top up old mix with fresh
Storage
- Shelf life
- 8 months from deliverydatasheet
- Conditions
- Tightly closed container, 18–25 °C, protect from moisture and foreign matter.datasheet

Safety: Flammable. Contains organic solvents, and the hardeners contain isocyanates. Spray in a booth with extraction, wearing a carbon respirator (A2P2 or better), gloves and goggles.
