VTL30100

VTL30100 UV-cure curtain-coating lacquer, high gloss, for furniture

Single-pack clear high-gloss UV-cure lacquer for curtain coaters. Excellent flow-out, deep gloss, high clarity and a hard, chemical-resistant film; Technocolor's catalogue says it can be polished. Cures only under UV lamps and needs a solvent flash-off before the lamps.

  • High-gloss topcoat for flat furniture fronts on a curtain-coater + UV line
  • Bathroom furniture
  • Carcass parts: sides, shelves
  • Veneered panels (Technocolor 'anegri UV' schedule) over VTS20029 UV sealer

    % by weight: 20–30 (typ. 25) %catalog

S31 is the default for the curtain coater: slower evaporation from the open trough and curtain, so viscosity drifts less. S30 for a short line, little flash-off time or a cold shop.

25 % default is the middle of the catalogue range (our pick). Solvent must be fully out before the UV lamps (30–35 °C, 5 min).

  • S31Thinner
% by weight: top up to hold target cup time; total ≤ 30 %recommended

During a shift on the curtain coater — add S31 by cup reading every 1–2 h.

Temperature and humidity
material 18–25 °C; flash-off 30–35 °C; RH ≤ 70 %recommended
Don'ts
  • Don't send it under the lamps before the solvent is out — craters, bubbles and under-cure
  • Don't expect it to dry without UV
  • Don't leave the coater trough or cans in daylight
  • Don't add PU hardeners
  • Don't exceed 30 % thinner — the curtain breaks up and gloss drops

Storage

Storage temperature
5–25 °C, darkrecommended

Safety: UV acrylate monomers are strong skin sensitisers: nitrile gloves, goggles; ventilation/respirator for the solvent. Shield eyes and skin from the UV lamps. (Recommendation, not from a Technocolor SDS.)
