CPH66 Wenge wood impregnation (waterborne, exterior)

Waterborne wenge-coloured exterior wood impregnation. Protects timber from temperature swings, moisture and insects and gives it a decorative look. Even colour, strong protection against fungi, mould and wood pests, high lightfastness.

Lay an even wet coat with no puddles or runs — with a dark wenge any puddle or overlap shows as a blotch; keep a wet edge and flood end grain well. WB-rated (stainless) gun and hoses. Stir well before use.

Dipping

Consumption
60–80 g/m²official

Dipping gives good penetration into the wood; it is the usual way to apply protective impregnation in window production (methods page). Let the part drain fully, then dry.

Стандартная практика для водных материалов.

Synthetic-bristle brush, work along the grain, brush out any surplus.

Flow coating

Flow coating at 60–80 g/m² is listed on the CPH66 dealer page (not on the official page).

Process and compatibility

Substrate preparation
Dry, clean, dust-free timber with no old film coatings; wood moisture 12–15 %; final sanding P120–P150 (coarser rather than finer, to keep it absorbent for exterior use).recommended
Goes over
bare wood
Goes under
CPH626 / CPH600 / HTL61 SM / HTL60 SM
Sanding
The impregnation can raise the grain — denib lightly with P180–P220 before lazure/lacquer without cutting through the treated layer.recommended
Temperature and humidity
Apply at +10…+30 °C, RH up to 80 %; not in direct sun, rain or on wet timber.recommended
Don'ts
  • Do not thin with solvent thinners.
  • Do not apply over old lacquers/paints — the impregnation has to soak into bare wood.
  • Do not let the product freeze.
  • Don't apply over timber already sealed with clear impregnation/lacquer if you need an even tone — the colour will go blotchy.

Safety: Contains biocides (antiseptic): wear gloves and goggles, and a respirator when spraying; not for interiors or food-contact surfaces (for interiors Technocolor offers the biocide-free CPH6xx lazures).
