S1000
S1000 thinner for PU coatings
Thinner for Technocolor two-pack polyurethane coatings. Per the official dealer listing: colourless, medium drying speed, used to bring matt PU lacquers and primers down to application viscosity. It has no page on t-color.ru and is not in the 2025–2026 catalogue thinner table (p.19). On the official site S1000 is the only thinner named for PPS40720, the white PU primer for rigid PU foam and expanded polystyrene — 10–30 % by weight / 20–40 % by volume. The solvent blend is not published; given its job (priming foam) a gentler blend than the universal S50 is plausible, but Technocolor does not say so.
- thinner for PPS40720 (white PU primer for PU foam and EPS) — official, 10–30 % by weight / 20–40 % by volume
- thinning matt PU lacquers and PU primers to spray viscosity (dealer, no specific codes given)

Answers are based on the S1000 data and the products it mixes with.

whenever PPS40720 is sprayed (150 g/m²)
Mix the primer with C20051 hardener first, then add S1000 in steps to spray viscosity. Start at 10 % by weight and test on an EPS offcut — solvents can eat into the foam.

Where the product officially calls for S50, S50 is the standard; substituting S1000 is at your own risk, after a test panel.

Never sprayed on its own. Add after part A and hardener are mixed, stir, check with the cup. On foam: a light mist coat first, let it flash, then the full coat — a heavy wet coat loaded with solvent attacks polystyrene harder.

Cleaning
- Why ru
For gun flushing a fast, inexpensive thinner is normally used (e.g. S10 or a commodity cleaning solvent); S1000 also dissolves fresh PU. Never leave hardened mix in the gun past pot life.
Process and compatibility
- Goes with
- PPS40720, C20051
- Temperature and humidity
- 15–25 °C, RH ≤ 75 %recommended
- Don'ts
- don't eyeball it — weigh part A + hardener first, then add thinner
- don't go past 30 % by weight on PPS40720 — you lose build and hide, and the foam is more likely to be attacked
- don't use on expanded polystyrene without a test patch
- don't use it to thin acrylic, polyester or water-based products unless the manufacturer says so
Storage
- Shelf life
- ≥ 24 months sealedrecommended
- Storage temperature
- +5…+25 °C, away from heat and flame, tightly closedrecommended
- Packaging
- 5 l candealer
Safety: Highly flammable liquid; harmful vapours. Use in a ventilated spray booth with an organic-vapour (A2) respirator and nitrile gloves. Keep away from flames and sparks. (Generic PU-solvent precautions; no SDS found.)

- not used in any official finishing schedule (information/technology)
- PPS40720 solids/viscosity on the dealer card may belong to PPS40040 (card URL /pps40040/), so nozzle/spray-viscosity guidance for PPS40720 rests on 'high solids' only
