PTS20 B

PTS20 B universal clear PU sanding sealer

Two-pack clear polyurethane sanding sealer: fast drying, high solids, sands easily (official site). A separate listing with the same description as PTS20, but cured with PC25 only and taking slightly more thinner by volume (25–35 %). Technocolor doesn't explain the 'B' suffix.

Officially spray, 150 g/m². Base viscosity isn't published — settings carried over from PTS20; check with a cup. If all you have is a 1.4–1.5 mm gun, thin to the top of the range (30 % S50) and lay it in two light cross passes; you'll get a bit less build.

Substrate preparation
Sand flats P150 → P180 → P220 and profiles with K60/K80 pads; stain first if needed (the schedule uses CTU + CFS1 + S12 at 80–100 g/m², 5 min at 20–25 °C) before priming.schedule

Sanding
P240 → P280 → P320 on flats, K120 on profiles; PTS20 B's time to sanding is unpublished — work to 2–3 h at 20 °C or 1.5 h at 30–35 °C (as PTS20)schedule

Don'ts
  • don't sit on the mix — pot life isn't published; work to PTS20's 3–4 h
  • don't eyeball the hardener — exactly 50 % of base by weight
  • don't sand before 2 h at 20 °C — the paper will clog
  • don't topcoat without sanding
  • don't lay more than ~150 g/m² per coat

Storage

Safety: Solvent-borne 2K PU with an aromatic isocyanate hardener: spray in an extracted booth, wear a carbon respirator (A2/P2 or air-fed), nitrile gloves and eye protection; keep away from ignition sources. (General 2K PU rules; no SDS found.)
