PTL10 UM

PTL10 UM Clear PU lacquer / self-sealer, ultra-matt (10 gloss)

Two-pack clear polyurethane lacquer, fast drying, ultra-matt (10 gloss). Universal: it wets out and fills the pores without sinking into the substrate, so it works both as a self-sealer and as a topcoat. As a topcoat it gives a surface that is pleasant to the touch, flows out very well and stays highly transparent.

  • Finishing furniture in any wood species
  • Ultra-matt clear topcoat over PU sealer
  • Self-sealing lacquer system (2–3 coats) on simple work where fast turnaround matters

Above ~25 °C or on big flat panels — when S50 dries too fast at the gun

Slower than S50: better flow-out, but more dust pick-up and sag risk on verticals.

Distance 15–20 cm, 50–75 % overlap, full fan. With matt lacquers an even film thickness matters most, otherwise you get patchy sheen. Stir part A before decanting — the matting agent settles.

Don'ts
  • Don't under- or over-dose the hardener — 40 % by weight is fixed
  • Don't use the mix past its pot life (~4 h)
  • Don't lay it on heavy in one pass — matt lacquer clouds and the sheen goes patchy
  • Don't sand or polish the final ultra-matt coat
  • Keep moisture out of the PC20 hardener

Safety: Flammable (organic solvents). Spray in a booth with extraction, wear an A2P2/A2P3 respirator, gloves and eye protection. The hardener contains isocyanates — avoid breathing mist and skin contact. Source: general 2K PU rules (derived).
