LUA2010

LUA2010 soft-touch polyurethane clear lacquer

Two-pack polyurethane soft-touch topcoat: a matt, pleasant, soft velvety-feel finish. Cured with its dedicated hardener LNB010 (30 % by weight) and thinned with the slow thinner LZC8643. Applied by spray or curtain coater at 100–120 g/m².

  • tactile topcoat on furniture fronts, panels, handles and cabinets
  • over a pigmented PU finish or a clear PU sealer to give a velvet-touch feel

Always; this is the only listed hardener.

LNB010 is Milesi's dedicated soft-touch hardener, 65 ± 1 % solids. Fixed ratio — do not go short or long on it; the soft-touch feel and resistance depend on hitting the stoichiometry. Weigh it.

  • LZC8643Thinner
    % by weight: 10–30 (typ. 20) %official% by volume: 10–30 %official

10–15 % for curtain coater and airmix; 20–30 % for conventional/HVLP and hot shops.

LZC8643 is Milesi's slow PU thinner (density 0.850 ± 0.01 kg/l); t-color.ru: 'for polyurethane and acrylic materials'. Milesi TDS: for gloss PU finishes (LHR, LDA) and all PU products, mainly in hot weather; slightly faster than LZC70, strong solvency. No other thinner is listed for LUA2010.

  • S50Thinner
    % by weight: 10–30 (typ. 20) %recommended

Only as a stand-in when LZC8643 is unavailable, after a test panel; S80 is the closer evaporation match, S50 only at ≤22 °C.

Percentages are per 100 parts of component A.

Process and compatibility

Substrate preparation
Only over a prepared base: sanded PU sealer or a pigmented PU finish, fully de-dusted. Wood moisture 8–12 %. Never over bare wood.recommended

Sanding
Sand the base P320–P400 before LUA2010; do not sand, polish or buff the soft-touch filmrecommended
Temperature and humidity
Apply and cure at 18–25 °C, RH 50–70 %; never below 15 °C. Above ~25 °C use the top of the LZC8643 range.recommended
Don'ts
  • don't change the LNB010 ratio (exactly 30 %)
  • don't use other hardeners (LNB99, LNB16405 etc.)
  • don't sand or polish the finished soft-touch film
  • don't spot-repair — respray the whole panel
  • don't apply over bare wood without a sealer
  • don't spray above 75 % RH or below 15 °C

Safety: Contains solvents and, in the LNB010 hardener, isocyanates. Spray only in a ventilated booth, with an A2P2 carbon respirator (air-fed is better), nitrile gloves and eye protection. Keep away from ignition sources.
