LGA2AA43
LGA2AA43 PU clear lacquer, 35 gloss (satin)
Two-pack clear polyurethane lacquer, satin (35 gloss). Per the maker: excellent scratch resistance to EN 15186, good flow-out and film hardness; certified to 'EN71/1' (as printed — for toy coatings EN 71-3, migration of elements, is usually what matters). Hardener LNB20, LNB6AA0 or LNB77 at 2:1, thinned 20–40 % with S50/S80. Spray at 130–150 g/m². The LGA…/LNB… codes are Milesi (IVM Chemicals) codes; supplied by Technocolor.
- Clear satin topcoat for furniture, doors, fronts and worktops
- Surfaces that take scratching (EN 15186 scratch resistance)
- Children's furniture and items needing EN 71 certification

Answers are based on the LGA2AA43 data and the products it mixes with.
Mixing matrix
- LNB20Hardener% by weight: 50 %official% by volume: 50 %official
Default choice. Fixed ratio — 2 parts lacquer to 1 part hardener, same by weight and by volume.
Don't cut or overdose the hardener 'for speed' or 'for hardness' — it ruins the crosslink. The hardener is moisture-sensitive: close the tin straight away.
- LNB6AA0Hardener% by weight: 50 %official% by volume: 50 %official
Alternative hardener officially approved for the LGA2AA series. Technocolor doesn't publish how it differs from LNB20 (speed, yellowing).
LNB6AA0 isn't listed at t-colormarket.ru and there's no data on it anywhere — order through Technocolor and check with their tech line.
- LNB77Hardener% by weight: 50 %official% by volume: 50 %official
Approved for LGA2AA43 (unlike LGA2AA47). A common Milesi hardener, stocked at the dealer. Fine on dark woods and tinted systems.
LNB77: density 0.963 ± 0.030 kg/l, solids 23.4 ± 2 %, 12-month shelf life (Milesi TDS). On the related LGA2x series it dries a little slower than LNB20 (dust free 20 vs 15 min, touch 55 vs 45 min) with longer pot life (4 h vs 3 h); Milesi credits LNB20 with yellowing resistance — on pale timber and white grounds use LNB20. The LGA2x TDS shows gloss depends on hardener (a few units lower with LNB7 than with LNB77/LNB20) — do a test panel.
- S50Thinner% by weight: 20–40 (typ. 25) %official% by volume: 20–40 %official
Universal, normal-evaporation thinner — the default; vertical work, 18–25 °C.
Doesn't change cure time. (workshop)
- S80Thinner% by weight: 20–40 %official% by volume: 20–40 %official
Slow — above ~25 °C, large panels, flat work; keeps a wet edge so the satin comes out even without patchiness.
More dust pick-up and more sag risk on verticals; doesn't change cure time. (workshop)

Application
Conventional spray
- Consumption
- 130–150 g/m² per coatofficial
Satin lacquers: stir right to the bottom (the flatting agent settles), lay an even wet coat with 50 % overlap; too heavy raises the sheen, too light leaves a patchy satin.
HVLP
- Consumption
- 130–150 g/m² per coatofficial
15–20 cm gun distance, 50–75 % overlap, fan fully open, needle ~2 turns, 10–13 CFM (as in the owner's ATL50 G notes).
Airmix (air-assisted airless)
- Consumption
- 130–150 g/m² per coatofficial
Electrostatic
Electrostatic isn't listed for LGA2AA43. Untested.
Process and compatibility
- Substrate preparation
- Over a sanded (P320–P400), de-dusted PU sealer; timber at 8–10 % moisture.recommended
- Temperature and humidity
- 18–25 °C, 50–70 % RH; above 25 °C use S80recommended
- Don'ts
- Don't change the hardener dose — exactly 2:1 by weight or by volume
- Don't sand or polish the final coat — you'll get shiny burnish patches
- Don't lay it on too heavy (>150 g/m²) — sheen goes up and the film clouds
- Don't top up spent mix with fresh
- Don't spray above ~75 % RH — the isocyanate reacts with moisture (bubbles, blushing)
- Don't mix different hardeners (LNB20/LNB6AA0/LNB77) in one batch
Storage
Safety: No safety data published. Solvent-borne 2K PU with an isocyanate hardener: flammable; spray in a ventilated booth wearing an A2P2 (or air-fed) respirator, gloves and eye protection.
